The Liebherr ECBN 9671 is a LargeDoor fridge-freezer designed for flush installation in premium kitchen cabinetry. It offers a total volume of 514 litres with separate refrigerator, BioFresh and freezer compartments, plus integrated IceMaker and InfinitySpring water dispenser with fixed 3/4' water connection. With DuoCooling, automatic SuperCool and SuperFrost functions, InfinityLight LED lighting and InfinitySwipe electronic control, it is suited to households seeking precise cooling performance and advanced features.
The floor must support the weight of the appliance plus approx. 218 kg to 544 kg of food, depending on model net capacity. The floor should be level, and the appliance must be supported or levelled at floor level to keep ventilation openings clear. Recess dimensions must be correctly measured and the power socket must be in the correct position and easily accessible. Monolith appliances are designed for flush installation in units with a depth of 635 mm using stainless steel panels or customer-specific panels.
The depth of Monolith appliances is 610 mm, enabling installation in a standard European 610 mm fitted unit or in deeper 635 mm cut-outs for flexible installation options. Installations behind the appliance are not possible.
The top and carcass walls must line up flush with the appliance at a depth of at least 102 mm from the outside edge and be at least 16 mm thick. Because the unit recess is partially visible when the door is opened, the interior surfaces at the top and sides should match the kitchen unit, with a minimum internal depth of 76 mm. Designed carcass finishes are recommended. The Monolith scope of supply includes decorative trim for covering the gap between the appliance and side walls of the fitted unit.
For inset installation of ECBN 9671, the refrigerator compartment panel dimensions are H1 = 1255 mm, H2 = 768 mm, HS = 6 mm and W = 908 mm. For overlay installation, H1 = 1258 mm (plus overlapping at the top), H2 = 768 mm, HS = 6 mm and W = 914 mm (plus overlapping on both sides). Inset door panel dimensions are A = 400 mm, B = 12.5 mm, C = 962 mm; overlay door panel dimensions are A = 406 mm, B = 12.5 mm, C = 975 mm and D = 400 mm (dimension A without fitted door handle).
The adjustable feet are fully retracted for the minimum appliance height. Once positioned in the recess, the appliance is raised from the front using the adjustable feet until it contacts the anti-tipping device. To achieve the minimal plinth panel height of 102 mm, the feet must be raised by 6–8 mm. For higher plinth panels, the feet can be raised by up to 19 mm. Monolith appliances are ventilated entirely via the plinth panel, so the door panels must close at least 102 mm above the floor and the plinth grille must not be obstructed.
Ventilation is provided exclusively through the plinth panel. Spacers supplied with the appliance must be fitted to the appliance and door to separate the warm outgoing air from the incoming fresh air. Liebherr offers optional 102 mm high stainless steel plinth panels in widths matching Monolith models and Side-by-Side combinations. The plinth panel depth position can be varied and is assembled via a pre-installed adhesive joint.
Appliances must be installed so that doors, including handles, do not collide with adjacent cupboards, work surfaces, walls or other kitchen elements. The factory-set door opening angle is 115 °. If the door could hit a wall or unit, a 90 ° door opening limiter (supplied) can be installed by inserting a peg into the hinge. A minimum spacing of 76 mm is required next to walls or units for a 90 ° door opening.
For Side-by-Side installations in separate units, if doors open towards each other, a minimum spacing of 154 mm is needed to ensure handles do not collide when using the 90 ° limiter. Minimum gap between any door panels is 3 mm. Door panel thickness reduction (if over 19 mm), repositioning of adjoining elements, or using a stopper are possible solutions if collisions occur.
Monolith appliances can be installed as stand-alone units, Side-by-Side in a single fitted unit, or Side-by-Side in separate units. A Side-by-Side set is required if the distance between appliances is less than 102 mm. If a dividing wall between separate units is less than 102 mm, a Side-by-Side set and sidewall heater are required. When combining more than two units, different layouts are possible using one or two Side-by-Side sets and dividing walls, with specified minimum distances (102 mm or 154 mm) to avoid door and handle collisions.
The Side-by-Side sets include a sidewall heater, metal brackets, screws and decorative trim. Use of the Side-by-Side set increases energy consumption by 0.4 kWh/24 h for two units and 0.8 kWh/24 h for three units.
Appliances with InfinitySpring or IceMaker must be connected to a water supply with pressure between 2.8 bar and 6.2 bar. Only the supply hose delivered with the appliance must be used. A shut-off valve must be installed between the hose line and mains water supply so the water can be stopped when required; it must not be located behind the appliance. Water quality must comply with regional drinking water regulations. The IceMaker is solely for producing ice cubes in normal household quantities and must only be used with suitable water.
A filter should be installed if solids such as sand are present in the water, and a water softener is recommended where hardness is high. Monolith appliances with InfinitySpring or IceMaker contain a water filter positioned in the front section of the appliance base. The water filter must be replaced regularly, and an InfinitySwipe alarm indicates when replacement is due. All work on InfinitySpring or IceMaker must be carried out only by customer service or other trained individuals.
The appliance must only be operated using alternating current within the permitted voltage and frequency for the country. Power sockets must be earthed, electrically protected, not located behind the appliance and easily accessible. A separate circuit is recommended to prevent food spoilage in case another appliance causes a power failure.
The appliance must not be connected via extension cables, multi-sockets or inverters due to risks of overheating, fire and imperfect sine wave voltage. Water connection work must not be performed while the appliance is connected to an electrical socket. The refrigerant circuits are checked for tightness and the appliances comply with applicable safety regulations.
Appliances are designed for operation within specific ambient temperature ranges defined by climate class. For refrigerators and freezers, including ECBN 9671, the climate class is SN–T, meaning operation from 10 °C to 43 °C ambient temperature. They are intended for refrigerating, freezing and storing food and for making ice (if equipped). Appliances must not be operated outside the specified ambient temperature ranges.
To prevent tipping, the anti-tipping device positioned at the base of the appliance must be fitted and secured to the floor or wall as described in the installation instructions. It is important to allow the appliance to stand for one hour in the installation location before switching on, so fluids in the coolant and lubrication system can distribute evenly.
The total volume is 514 litres, comprising 242.6 litres in the refrigerator compartment, 87.1 litres in the BioFresh compartment and 184.3 litres in the freezer compartment, as stated in accordance with Regulation EU 2019/2016.
Yes. The InfinitySpring integrated water dispenser and IceMaker require a fixed 3/4' water connection. Water pressure must be between 2.8 bar and 6.2 bar, and only the supply hose delivered with the appliance must be used. A shut-off valve must be installed in an accessible position, not behind the appliance.
The refrigerator compartment can be set between +2 °C and +7 °C. The freezer compartment can be set between −14 °C and −27 °C. The appliance features automatic SuperCool and SuperFrost functions for rapid chilling and freezing.
The appliance is supplied with a right-hand door hinge and is reversible. Door hinge reversal must be carried out by authorised Liebherr Monolith customer service, and a door hinge exchange set is available as an accessory for hinge reversals.
Yes. Monolith appliances are designed to be installed Side-by-Side with other Liebherr refrigerators, freezers or wine cabinets. A Side-by-Side set is required if the distance between appliances is less than 102 mm. The set includes a sidewall heater, brackets, screws and decorative trim. Sidewall heaters must be used where integrated units have spacing of less than 102 mm to prevent condensation.
The climate class for refrigerators and freezers is SN–T, meaning the appliance is designed for operation at ambient temperatures from 10 °C to 43 °C. It must not be operated outside this temperature range to maintain optimal cooling performance.
