The Liebherr ECBN 9471 is a built-in Monolith LargeDoor fridge–freezer designed for generous fresh and frozen food storage. It offers a total volume of 400 litres with separate refrigerator, BioFresh and freezer compartments, controlled precisely by InfinitySwipe touch electronics. Features such as DuoCooling, BioFresh–Plus, InfinityLight, InfinitySpring water dispenser and an automatic IceMaker make it suitable for households seeking advanced food preservation, convenient water and ice supply, and flexible installation in premium kitchens.
The appliance depth is 610 mm. It may be installed in a fitted unit of 610 mm standard European depth or in deeper cut-outs of 635 mm to provide flexible installation options. For inset door panel installation, the door panel dimensions for inset must be used in the case of flush installation.
Recess dimensions for this model are 213.4 / 76.2 / 63.5 cm (H / W / D). Installations behind the appliance are not possible. The unit depth with overlay door panel installation is 635 mm; with inset door panel installation it is 635 mm plus the thickness of the custom panel.
For inset installation, door panel dimensions are H1 = 1255 mm, H2 = 768 mm, HS = 6 mm, W = 756 mm. For overlay installation, H1 = 1258 mm (plus overlapping of the panel on the top), H2 = 768 mm, HS = 6 mm, W = 762 mm (plus overlapping of the panel on both sides).
Panel thickness must be minimum 16 mm (with note regarding thinner five-piece shaker style panels requiring shorter screws) and maximum 30 mm. Maximum panel weight is 35 kg for panel 1 and 25 kg for panel 2. For customer-specific panels, the maximal permitted panel weight for the door hinge must not be exceeded; other wooden materials up to 30 mm thickness may be used.
The adjustable feet are fully retracted for the minimum height stated. The appliance height is raised by turning the adjustable feet from the front so that the appliance contacts the anti-tipping device. To achieve the minimal plinth panel height of 102 mm, the adjustable feet must be raised by 6 to 8 mm. For higher plinth panels, the adjustable feet can be raised by a maximum of 19 mm.
Monolith appliances are ventilated entirely via the plinth panel. Door panels must close at least 102 mm above the floor. The grille in the plinth panel must not be obstructed. Spacers supplied with the appliance must be fitted to separate warm outgoing air from incoming fresh air. Liebherr provides optional 102 mm high stainless steel plinth panels in widths matching the model and Side–by–Side combinations.
The door opening angle is set to 115° ex works and can be limited to 90° using the supplied door opening limiter by inserting a peg into the hinge. To prevent doors and handles colliding with adjoining units or walls, a minimum spacing of 76 mm must be included for a 90° opening. In back-to-back configurations, a minimum spacing of 154 mm may be required depending on opening direction and limiter use.
For overlay door panel installation, the panel overlaps the unit carcass frame, with example values given for a 19 mm carcass and 30 mm panel. The minimum permitted gap between panels is 3 mm. For inset installation, panels sit within the furniture framing, with similar gap and opening angle considerations.
Monolith appliances should be left to stand for one hour in the installation location before switching on, so that fluids in the coolant and lubrication system distribute evenly.
Top and carcass walls must line up flush with the appliance at a depth of at least 102 mm from the outside edge and be at least 16 mm thick. Because parts of the recess are visible when the door is opened, the interior should match the unit surface at top and sides, with minimum depth of 76 mm. Designed carcass finishes from the kitchen manufacturer are recommended.
The appliance has a recess for cable and water line routing, with 25 mm depth and 140 mm height across the entire appliance width. The mains cable exits 19 mm from the left and 127 mm from the floor, with a free length of 2.5 m. An anti-tipping device at the base must be secured to the floor or wall.
Monolith appliances can be installed Side–by–Side in a fitted unit or in separate units. If the spacing between integrated units is less than 102 mm, a Side–by–Side set with sidewall heater, brackets, screws and decorative trim is required. The sidewall heater prevents condensation between appliances and increases energy consumption by 0.4 kWh / 24 h for two units and 0.8 kWh / 24 h for three units.
For three-unit combinations, different options are available, including two-appliance combinations plus a third unit separated by a carcass side of at least 16 mm or wider separations (102 mm or 154 mm) to prevent handle collisions.
The appliance is intended for refrigerating, freezing and storing food and for making ice. It is designed for operation within the SN–T climate class, meaning ambient temperatures from 10 °C to 43 °C. The manufacturer specifies that the appliance must not be operated outside the stated ambient temperature range.
To prevent tipping after installation, the anti-tipping device must be fitted and secured to the floor or wall. Further details are described in installation instructions. The scope of supply includes decorative trim to cover the gap between appliance and fitted unit side walls.
Note: Optional accessories for this model are further listed with model references and article numbers; only those explicitly mentioning ECBN 9471 are included above.
The ECBN 9471 offers a total volume of 400 litres. Of this, 190.0 litres are in the refrigerator compartment, 69.0 litres in the BioFresh compartment and 141.0 litres in the freezer compartment. Total volume is indicated to the nearest integer in accordance with Regulation EU 2019/2016.
The refrigerator compartment temperature range is adjustable from +2 °C to +7 °C. The freezer compartment temperature range is adjustable from −14 °C to −27 °C. DuoCooling provides separate, precise control for refrigerator and freezer.
The BioFresh–Plus safe can be variably divided into different temperature zones. It can be set to just over 0 °C, ideal for meat and dairy products, or to an icy −2 °C for fish and seafood. It can also be divided so that the left side is −2 °C and the right side just over 0 °C, separated by a dividing wall. Fruit and vegetables can be stored at just over 0 °C for considerably longer freshness compared with a normal refrigerator compartment.
Models with InfinitySpring or IceMaker must be connected to a water supply using only the supplied hose. Water pressure must be between 2.8 and 6.2 bar. A shut-off valve must be fitted between the hose and mains water supply (not behind the appliance), and connection must be carried out by a trained and licensed plumber. Water must comply with local drinking water regulations. A water softener is recommended in hard water areas and a filter is recommended if solids are present.
Yes. Monolith appliances, including the ECBN 9471, can be installed Side–by–Side in a fitted unit or in separate units with other Liebherr refrigerators, freezers or wine cabinets. A Side–by–Side set with sidewall heater, brackets and decorative trim is required if the distance between appliances is less than 102 mm. Spacing and door opening requirements must be observed to prevent door and handle collisions.
The appliance must be connected only to earthed power sockets, without extension leads, multi-sockets or inverters. It should be left standing for one hour before switch-on. The anti-tipping device must be fitted and secured to the floor or wall. Water connection work must not be carried out while the appliance is plugged in, and only a trained and licensed plumber may connect the water supply. The manufacturer specifies that repairs and work on InfinitySpring or IceMaker should be performed by customer service or other trained individuals.
