Installation, Planning and Safety Details

Appliance and recess dimensions

The appliance depth is 610 mm. It may be installed in a fitted unit of 610 mm standard European depth or in deeper cut-outs of 635 mm to provide flexible installation options. For inset door panel installation, the door panel dimensions for inset must be used in the case of flush installation.

Recess dimensions for this model are 213.4 / 76.2 / 63.5 cm (H / W / D). Installations behind the appliance are not possible. The unit depth with overlay door panel installation is 635 mm; with inset door panel installation it is 635 mm plus the thickness of the custom panel.

Door panel dimensions and loads

For inset installation, door panel dimensions are H1 = 1255 mm, H2 = 768 mm, HS = 6 mm, W = 756 mm. For overlay installation, H1 = 1258 mm (plus overlapping of the panel on the top), H2 = 768 mm, HS = 6 mm, W = 762 mm (plus overlapping of the panel on both sides).

Panel thickness must be minimum 16 mm (with note regarding thinner five-piece shaker style panels requiring shorter screws) and maximum 30 mm. Maximum panel weight is 35 kg for panel 1 and 25 kg for panel 2. For customer-specific panels, the maximal permitted panel weight for the door hinge must not be exceeded; other wooden materials up to 30 mm thickness may be used.

Adjustable feet and plinth

The adjustable feet are fully retracted for the minimum height stated. The appliance height is raised by turning the adjustable feet from the front so that the appliance contacts the anti-tipping device. To achieve the minimal plinth panel height of 102 mm, the adjustable feet must be raised by 6 to 8 mm. For higher plinth panels, the adjustable feet can be raised by a maximum of 19 mm.

Ventilation requirements

Monolith appliances are ventilated entirely via the plinth panel. Door panels must close at least 102 mm above the floor. The grille in the plinth panel must not be obstructed. Spacers supplied with the appliance must be fitted to separate warm outgoing air from incoming fresh air. Liebherr provides optional 102 mm high stainless steel plinth panels in widths matching the model and Side–by–Side combinations.

Door spacing and opening angle

The door opening angle is set to 115° ex works and can be limited to 90° using the supplied door opening limiter by inserting a peg into the hinge. To prevent doors and handles colliding with adjoining units or walls, a minimum spacing of 76 mm must be included for a 90° opening. In back-to-back configurations, a minimum spacing of 154 mm may be required depending on opening direction and limiter use.

For overlay door panel installation, the panel overlaps the unit carcass frame, with example values given for a 19 mm carcass and 30 mm panel. The minimum permitted gap between panels is 3 mm. For inset installation, panels sit within the furniture framing, with similar gap and opening angle considerations.

Installation space requirements

  • The floor must bear the weight of the appliance plus approximately 218 kg to 544 kg of food (depending on model net capacity).
  • The floor should be level, and the appliance must be supported or levelled so that ventilation openings remain clear.
  • Recess dimensions must be correctly measured, and the power socket positioned correctly and easily accessible.
  • Door heights on the transport route must be considered when moving the packed and tilted appliance.
  • The appliance should only be installed next to Liebherr refrigerators, freezers or wine cabinets designed for Side–by–Side use.

Monolith appliances should be left to stand for one hour in the installation location before switching on, so that fluids in the coolant and lubrication system distribute evenly.

Recess and carcass requirements

Top and carcass walls must line up flush with the appliance at a depth of at least 102 mm from the outside edge and be at least 16 mm thick. Because parts of the recess are visible when the door is opened, the interior should match the unit surface at top and sides, with minimum depth of 76 mm. Designed carcass finishes from the kitchen manufacturer are recommended.

The appliance has a recess for cable and water line routing, with 25 mm depth and 140 mm height across the entire appliance width. The mains cable exits 19 mm from the left and 127 mm from the floor, with a free length of 2.5 m. An anti-tipping device at the base must be secured to the floor or wall.

Side–by–Side installation

Monolith appliances can be installed Side–by–Side in a fitted unit or in separate units. If the spacing between integrated units is less than 102 mm, a Side–by–Side set with sidewall heater, brackets, screws and decorative trim is required. The sidewall heater prevents condensation between appliances and increases energy consumption by 0.4 kWh / 24 h for two units and 0.8 kWh / 24 h for three units.

For three-unit combinations, different options are available, including two-appliance combinations plus a third unit separated by a carcass side of at least 16 mm or wider separations (102 mm or 154 mm) to prevent handle collisions.

Electrical safety

  • The appliance must only be operated using alternating current at the permitted voltage and frequency for the relevant country.
  • Power sockets must be earthed, electrically protected and not located behind the appliance; they must be easily accessible.
  • A separate circuit is recommended to avoid food spoiling due to failures caused by other appliances.
  • The appliance must not be connected to unearthed power sockets, extension cables, multi-sockets or inverters due to risk of electric shock and fire.

Water connection, InfinitySpring and IceMaker

  • Water connection work must not be performed while the appliance is connected to an electrical socket.
  • A shut-off valve must be installed between the hose line and mains water supply and must not be installed behind the appliance.
  • Connection to the water supply must only be undertaken by a trained and licensed plumber.
  • Water quality must comply with local drinking water regulations, and IceMaker use is limited to producing ice cubes in normal household quantities with appropriate water.
  • InfinitySpring and IceMaker must be supplied only via the hose delivered with the appliance; manufacturer assumes no responsibility for devices or pipes between solenoid valve and water supply.
  • Water pressure must be between 2.8 and 6.2 bar. A water softener is recommended in regions with high hardness, and filters are recommended if solids such as sand are present.
  • The integrated water filter is located in the front section of the appliance base and must be replaced regularly; InfinitySwipe will remind you when replacement is due.

Ambient temperature and climate class

The appliance is intended for refrigerating, freezing and storing food and for making ice. It is designed for operation within the SN–T climate class, meaning ambient temperatures from 10 °C to 43 °C. The manufacturer specifies that the appliance must not be operated outside the stated ambient temperature range.

Secure mounting

To prevent tipping after installation, the anti-tipping device must be fitted and secured to the floor or wall. Further details are described in installation instructions. The scope of supply includes decorative trim to cover the gap between appliance and fitted unit side walls.
