The Liebherr Monolith ECBN 9471 is a built‑in LargeDoor fridge‑freezer offering a total volume of 400 litres, with separate refrigerator, BioFresh and freezer compartments. It features precise DuoCooling, BioFresh‑Plus for longer freshness, and convenient InfinitySwipe touch control. Integrated InfinityLight, InfinitySpring water dispenser and an automatic IceMaker enhance everyday use. The appliance is designed for flush installation in kitchen units and includes options for Side‑by‑Side combinations and custom panels.
The floor must be level and capable of bearing the weight of the appliance plus approximately 218 kg to 544 kg of food, depending on model. The recess dimensions at the installation location must be correctly measured and the power socket placed in the specified position. Installations behind the appliance are not possible.
The top and carcass walls should line up flush with the appliance at a depth of at least 102 mm from the outside edge and be made of material at least 16 mm thick. Because parts of the recess are visible when the door is open, matching finishes and a minimum internal depth of 76 mm are recommended.
Monolith appliances are designed for flush installation in 635 mm‑deep units with stainless steel or customer‑specific panels. The appliance depth is 610 mm, allowing installation in standard 610 mm deep units or deeper 635 mm cut‑outs.
For flush installation, inset door panel dimensions must be used. For other installation types, door spacing requirements must be respected to determine door panel dimensions. The minimum gap between panels is 3 mm. A minimum spacing of 76 mm must be allowed between appliance doors (including handles) and adjacent walls or kitchen elements for a door opening limited to 90°.
Door opening angle is set to 115° at the factory and can be limited to 90° using the supplied door opening limiter. Solutions for avoiding collisions include reducing panel thickness (if over 19 mm), repositioning neighbouring elements or using a stopper.
Ventilation is provided entirely via the plinth panel. Door panels must end at least 102 mm above the floor, and the grille in the plinth must remain unobstructed. Spacers supplied with the appliance must be fitted to separate warm outgoing air from fresh incoming air. A 102 mm‑high stainless steel plinth panel in the relevant width is available as an accessory.
Monolith appliances may be installed individually, Side‑by‑Side within a shared fitted unit or Side‑by‑Side in separate units. If the distance between appliances is less than 102 mm, a Side‑by‑Side set with sidewall heater, brackets, screws and decorative trim is required. For three‑unit combinations, two Side‑by‑Side sets may be used in different configurations; in some layouts, door collisions can occur and minimum distances (e.g. 102 mm or 154 mm) are specified to prevent handle interference.
Appliances with InfinitySpring or IceMaker must be connected to a water supply with pressure between 2.8 and 6.2 bar, using only the supplied hose. A shut‑off valve must be fitted between the hose and mains supply and must not be located behind the appliance. The water quality must comply with local drinking water regulations. The IceMaker is intended solely for producing ice cubes in normal household quantities using suitable water.
All devices and systems used to supply water to the appliance must meet relevant regional provisions. If water hardness is high, a water softener is recommended; a filter is also recommended where solids such as sand are present. Appliances with InfinitySpring or IceMaker include a water filter in the front section of the appliance base; this must be replaced regularly, and InfinitySwipe provides an alarm when replacement is due.
The appliance must be operated on alternating current, within the permitted voltage and frequency for the country of use. Power sockets must be earthed, electrically protected and easily accessible; they must not be located behind the appliance. A separate circuit is recommended to avoid food spoilage due to other appliances causing power failure.
The appliance must not be connected to unearthed sockets, extension cables, multi‑sockets or inverters, due to risks of electric shock, overheating or fire. Water connection work must not be performed while the appliance is connected to an electrical socket. All work on InfinitySpring and IceMaker must be carried out only by customer service personnel or other trained individuals.
The ECBN 9471 is intended for refrigerating, freezing and storing food and making ice within the specified climate class SN‑T, corresponding to ambient temperatures from 10 °C to 43 °C. The appliance should not be operated outside these limits. Before switching on, the appliance should stand for one hour in the installation location so that fluids in the coolant and lubrication system can distribute evenly.
To prevent tipping after installation, the anti‑tipping device located at the base must be securely fixed to the floor or wall. Detailed mounting instructions are provided with the appliance.
The ECBN 9471 has a total volume of 400 litres, comprising 190.0 litres in the refrigerator compartment, 69.0 litres in the BioFresh compartment and 141.0 litres in the freezer compartment.
The refrigerator compartment can be set between +2 °C and +7 °C. The freezer compartment offers a range from −14 °C to −27 °C. Both are controlled via the InfinitySwipe electronic touch display.
BioFresh‑Plus creates a tailored climate and can be divided into different temperature zones. At just over 0 °C it is ideal for meat and dairy products; at −2 °C it suits fish and seafood. Fruit and vegetables can also be stored at just over 0 °C, significantly longer than in the normal refrigerator compartment.
The appliance requires a fixed 3/4' water connection with pressure between 2.8 and 6.2 bar. Only the supplied hose may be used. A shut‑off valve must be installed between the hose and mains water supply and must not be located behind the appliance. The water must meet local drinking water regulations.
The ECBN 9471 is supplied with a right‑hand door hinge. The door hinge is reversible, but the reversal must be carried out by authorised Liebherr Monolith customer service using a door hinge exchange set.
With climate class SN‑T, the ECBN 9471 is designed for operation in ambient temperatures from 10 °C to 43 °C. It should not be operated outside this range in order to maintain optimal cooling performance.
