The Liebherr Monolith EGN 9671 is a tall integrated freezer designed for flush installation in fitted kitchen units with a depth of 610–635 mm. It offers NoFrost freezing, an automatic IceMaker with fixed water connection and sophisticated InfinityLight LED interior lighting. With SoftSystem door damping, FrostSafe drawers on telescopic rails and flexible door racks, it provides convenient, organised storage of frozen food in a premium built-in format.
The floor must be level and capable of bearing the weight of the appliance plus approximately 218–544 kg of food, depending on model. Recess dimensions at the installation location must be correctly measured. Monolith appliances are designed for flush installation in units with a depth of 635 mm using stainless steel panels or customer-specific panels. Recess carcass walls should line up flush with the appliance for at least 102 mm from the outside edge and be at least 16 mm thick.
Because the unit recess is partially visible when the door is opened, the inside should match the unit surface at the top and sides with a minimum visible depth of 76 mm. The depth of Monolith appliances is 610 mm, so they may be installed in standard European 610 mm deep units or deeper 635 mm cut-outs.
For overlay installation, the unit depth is 635 mm; for inset installation, 635 mm plus the thickness of the custom panel. Door panel thickness must be between 16 mm* and 30 mm. The maximum permitted panel weight for EGN 9671 is 40 kg. Installations behind the appliance are not possible. The plinth panel must provide unobstructed ventilation; Monolith appliances are ventilated entirely via the plinth panel. The door panels must close at least 102 mm above the floor and the plinth grille must not be obstructed.
Adjustable feet are fully retracted for the minimum height. To achieve a plinth height of 102 mm, they must be raised by 6–8 mm. For a higher plinth panel, the adjustable feet can be raised by up to 19 mm. Liebherr offers 102 mm high stainless steel plinth panels in widths from 45.7 cm to 182.8 cm as optional accessories.
For overlay and inset door panel installations, door spacing requirements must be observed, including a minimum gap of 3 mm between panels. A minimum spacing of 76 mm is recommended to avoid the door and handle colliding with adjoining furniture when the door opens to 90°. A 90° door opening limiter is included and can be fitted to reduce the opening angle from 115° to 90°.
*If a five-piece shaker style panel is used, which is thinner than the minimum panel thickness, shorter screws than those supplied in the accessory pack must be used.
Monolith appliances can be installed individually, Side-by-Side in a fitted unit or Side-by-Side in separate units. If the distance between two integrated units is less than 102 mm, a Side-by-Side set and sidewall heater are required to prevent condensation. For combinations of more than two units, different options allow three units to be installed using one or two Side-by-Side sets, with attention to minimum distances (102 mm or 154 mm) to avoid door and handle collisions.
The Side-by-Side sets include a sidewall heater, metal brackets, screws and decorative trim for covering the gap of approximately 6–8 mm between appliances. The sidewall heater does not require an additional mains connection; a slot is provided on the rear of the appliance. Use of Side-by-Side sets increases energy consumption by 0.4 kWh/24 h for two units and 0.8 kWh/24 h for three units.
Appliances with IceMaker must be connected to a water supply using only the supply hose delivered with the appliance. Water pressure must be between 2.8 and 6.2 bar, and water quality must comply with local drinking water regulations. A shut-off valve must be installed between the hose line and mains water supply, but not behind the appliance. The IceMaker is designed for producing ice cubes in normal household quantities and must be used only with suitable water.
All devices and systems used to supply water must meet applicable regional provisions. All appliances with IceMaker have a water filter in the front section of the appliance base. The water filter must be replaced regularly, and an InfinitySwipe alarm reminds when replacement is due. The manufacturer accepts no responsibility for damage resulting from devices or water pipes between the solenoid valve and water supply.
The appliance must be operated using alternating current within the permitted voltage and frequency for the relevant country. Power sockets must be earthed, electrically protected according to regulations, not located behind the appliance and easily accessible for disconnection if required. A separate circuit is recommended to prevent food from defrosting due to failures caused by other appliances.
The appliance must not be connected using an extension cable, multi-socket or inverter because of overheating and fire risk. It must not be connected to unearthed power sockets due to the risk of fatal electric shock. Water connection work must not be performed while the appliance is connected to an electrical socket.
Monolith appliances intended for refrigerating, freezing and storing food, and for making ice if equipped, are designed for operation within the SN–T ambient temperature range. They must not be operated outside specified ambient temperatures. Refrigerant circuits are checked for tightness and appliances meet applicable safety regulations.
To prevent the appliance from tipping over after installation, the anti-tipping device positioned at the base must be secured to the floor or wall. Adjustable feet are used to raise the appliance from the front of the unit so that it contacts the anti-tipping device. Further secure mounting details are provided in the installation instructions supplied with the appliance.
A wide range of optional accessories is available for the Monolith range, including flat and square brushed aluminium handles, round stainless steel handles, stainless steel panels, stainless steel plinth panels, Side-by-Side sets, sidewall heater, door hinge exchange set, FreshAir activated charcoal filters, water filters, FlexSystem compartment organisers, ice cube scoop, ice cube tongs and cleaning products such as stainless steel care and cleaner. Specific part numbers and dimensions are listed for models including EGN 9671.
The appliance dimensions are 212.6 / 90.6 / 61 cm (H/W/D). The recess dimensions are 213.4 / 91.4 / 63.5 cm (H/W/D). For inset installation, the height is 2029 mm and width 908 mm. For overlay installation, the height is 2032 mm plus panel overlap at the top and width 914 mm plus overlap on both sides. The appliance depth is 610 mm, and the cut-out depth is typically 635 mm.
The EGN 9671 uses NoFrost technology. It freezes food with cooled re-circulated air and removes humidity, keeping the freezer compartment ice-free. Food is no longer covered in frost and manual defrosting is no longer necessary.
The SuperFrost function quickly lowers the freezer temperature to preserve vitamins when freezing. After freezing is complete, it switches back to normal operation automatically after a maximum of 65 hours, helping to save electricity. SuperFrost and other functions can also be controlled via SmartDevice services when on the move, where available.
The IceMaker requires a fixed 3/4' water connection. Water pressure must be between 2.8 and 6.2 bar and the water quality must comply with local drinking water regulations. Only the supply hose provided with the appliance may be used. A shut-off valve must be installed between the hose line and mains water supply and must not be located behind the appliance.
Yes. The EGN 9671 is supplied with a left door hinge which is reversible. Reversing the hinge should be carried out by an authorised Liebherr Monolith customer service engineer, using a door hinge exchange set where applicable.
Monolith refrigerators and freezers, including the EGN 9671, have climate class SN–T. They are designed for operation in ambient temperatures from 10°C to 43°C. They must not be operated outside this temperature range.
