The appliance is designed for flush installation in units with a depth of 635 mm using stainless steel or customer-specific panels. It can also be installed in standard European 610 mm deep units. The recess dimensions for the EGN 9471 are 213.4 / 76.2 / 63.5 cm (H/W/D). The floor must be level and capable of bearing the weight of the appliance plus food. Recess dimensions must be measured correctly and the power socket positioned appropriately.
The top and carcass walls must line up flush with the appliance at a depth of at least 102 mm from the outside edge and be at least 16 mm thick. As parts of the recess are visible with the door open, matching finishes from the kitchen manufacturer are recommended. A decorative trim to cover the gap between the appliance and unit side walls is included in the scope of supply.
The EGN 9471 supports both inset and overlay door panel installation. For inset installation, appliance height is 2029 mm and width 756 mm. For overlay installation, appliance height is 2032 mm and width 762 mm, plus any panel overlap. Panel thickness must be between 16 mm (minimum) and 30 mm (maximum), with a maximum panel weight of 35 kg for this model. If a five-piece shaker style panel thinner than 16 mm is used, shorter screws than those supplied must be used.
The Monolith plinth panel height is a minimum of 102 mm. The adjustable feet are fully retracted at the minimum height. Raising the adjustable feet from the front until the appliance contacts the anti-tipping device increases height; for the 102 mm plinth height, feet must be raised by 6 to 8 mm. A stainless steel plinth panel 76.2 cm wide (102 mm high) is available as an optional accessory for the EGN 9471. The plinth must not obstruct ventilation grilles and must be positioned so that the door panels close at least 102 mm above the floor.
Monolith appliances are ventilated entirely via the plinth panel and must be installed so that doors and handles do not collide with adjoining walls or kitchen elements. A minimum spacing of 76 mm is required for a door opening limited to 90°. The factory door opening angle is 115°, and a 90° door opening limiter (stable peg) is supplied for optional use.
All Monolith appliances can be installed individually, Side-by-Side in a single fitted unit or Side-by-Side in separate units. If the distance between two integrated units is less than 102 mm, a Side-by-Side set with sidewall heater and brackets is required. For back-to-back door positioning, a minimum spacing of 154 mm is necessary to avoid handle collisions when opening to the centre with the 90° limiter.
The appliance relies on ventilation through the plinth panel. The grills in the plinth must not be covered. Spacers supplied with the appliance must be fitted to separate warm outgoing air from incoming fresh air. Stainless steel plinth panels are available in widths from 45.7 cm to 182.8 cm, including a 76.2 cm version suited to the EGN 9471.
The IceMaker requires a fixed 3/4' water connection. Water connection work must not be performed while the appliance is connected to the electrical socket. A shut-off valve must be installed between the hose and mains water supply and must not be located behind the appliance. The connection must only be undertaken by a trained and licensed plumber, and water quality must comply with local drinking water regulations.
Monolith appliances with IceMaker must have a water pressure between 2.8 and 6.2 bar. Only the supply hose provided with the appliance may be used. A water softener is recommended in areas with high water hardness, and a filter must be used if solids such as sand are present. The IceMaker is intended solely for producing ice cubes in normal household quantities.
The appliance must be operated on alternating current at the permitted voltage and frequency for the country. Power sockets must be earthed, electrically protected, easily accessible and must not be located directly behind the appliance. A separate circuit is recommended to prevent defrosting caused by other appliances. The unit must not be connected via extension cables, multi-sockets or inverters due to fire and overheating risks.
The refrigerant circuit has been checked for tightness and the appliance meets applicable safety regulations. To prevent tipping, the anti-tipping device supplied must be secured to the floor or wall during installation. After positioning, the appliance should stand in the installation location for one hour before switching on so that coolant and lubrication fluids distribute evenly.
The appliance is intended for refrigerating, freezing and storing food and for making ice. Its climate class SN–T allows operation in ambient temperatures from 10°C to 43°C. It must not be operated outside these temperature ranges. The appliance should be installed only next to Liebherr refrigerators, freezers or wine cabinets designed for Side-by-Side installation to avoid condensation and potential damage.
The appliance dimensions are 212.6 / 75.4 / 61 cm (H/W/D). The required recess dimensions are 213.4 / 76.2 / 63.5 cm (H/W/D). The appliance depth is 610 mm and it can be installed in cut-outs of 610 mm or 635 mm depth, with 635 mm used for flush installation with panels.
No manual defrosting is required. The EGN 9471 uses NoFrost technology, which freezes food with cooled re-circulated air, removes humidity and keeps the freezer compartment ice-free so that defrosting is no longer necessary.
The automatic IceMaker creates 1.6 kg of filtered ice in 24 hours. Ice storage capacity is between 1.8 kg and 3.5 kg depending on the model. It requires a fixed 3/4' water connection, with water pressure between 2.8 and 6.2 bar, and must be connected using the supply hose delivered with the appliance.
Yes. The freezer is supplied with a left-hand door hinge that is reversible. Door hinge exchange must be performed by an authorised Liebherr Monolith customer service engineer, and a dedicated door hinge exchange set is available as an accessory.
Yes. Monolith appliances, including the EGN 9471, are designed to be installed Side-by-Side with compatible Liebherr refrigerators, freezers and wine cabinets. If the spacing between appliances is less than 102 mm, a Side-by-Side set with sidewall heater and fixing brackets must be used. A minimum spacing of 76 mm is recommended to avoid door and handle collisions when doors open to 90°.
The appliance has a climate class of SN–T, so it is designed for operation in ambient temperatures from 10°C to 43°C. It must not be operated outside this range to ensure optimal cooling performance and safety.
