The Liebherr Monolith EGN 9271 is a built–in freezer designed for flush installation in premium kitchen units. It provides NoFrost freezing performance, an automatic IceMaker with fixed water connection and elegant InfinityLight LED interior lighting. With height–adjustable storage features, SoftSystem door closing and a SuperFrost function, this model is suitable for households seeking convenient, high–capacity frozen food storage with precise electronic control and integrated planning solutions.
The appliance is designed for flush installation in units with a depth of 635 mm, with an appliance depth of 610 mm. It may also be installed in standard European fitted units of 610 mm depth. For secure installation, top and carcass walls must line up flush with the appliance at a depth of at least 102 mm from the outside edge and be at least 16 mm thick.
The recess dimensions for this model are 213.4 cm (H) × 61 cm (W) × 63.5 cm (D). The unit recess is partially visible when the door is opened, so matching surfaces and a minimum visible depth of 76 mm at the top and sides are recommended. A decorative trim to cover the gap between appliance and side walls is supplied.
For inset installation the dimensions are H = 2029 mm and W = 603 mm. For overlay installation the dimensions are H = 2032 mm and W = 610 mm (plus the dimensions of overlapping of the panel). Panel thickness must be between 16 mm and 30 mm, with a maximum panel weight of 30 kg.
Monolith appliances are ventilated entirely via the plinth panel. The door panel must close at least 102 mm above the floor, and the grill in the plinth panel must not be obstructed. Spacers included in the scope of supply must be fitted to the appliance and the door to separate the warm outgoing air from the fresh incoming air.
Liebherr provides optional stainless steel plinth panels 102 mm high in widths from 45.7 cm to 182.8 cm, including 61.0 cm for the EGN 9271. The plinth panel is assembled using an adhesive joint pre–assembled on the appliance and has an adjustable position depth.
To prevent the door and handle from colliding with adjoining units, worktops or walls, a minimum spacing of 76 mm must be allowed for a door opening limited to 90°. The door opening angle is set to 115° ex works but can be limited to 90° using the supplied door opening limiter by inserting a peg into the hinge.
Possible solutions to collision issues include reducing door panel thickness (if greater than 19 mm), repositioning adjoining elements or using a stopper. The minimum permitted gap between adjoining panels is 3 mm.
The appliance may be installed as a stand–alone unit or Side–by–Side with other Monolith refrigerators, freezers or wine cabinets. If the distance between two integrated units is less than 102 mm, a Side–by–Side set with sidewall heater, brackets, screws and decorative trim is required. For back–to–back door positioning with a 90° door opening limiter, a minimum dividing wall width of 154 mm is required to prevent handle collisions.
Appliances fitted with an IceMaker must be connected to a water supply with pressure between 2.8 and 6.2 bar using only the supply hose delivered with the appliance. A shut–off valve must be installed between the hose and the mains water supply and must not be located behind the appliance. The IceMaker is intended solely for producing ice cubes in normal household quantities with suitable drinking water.
All devices and systems used to supply water must meet regional provisions. A water softener is recommended for high water hardness, and a filter must be used if solids such as sand are present. The appliance includes a water filter in the front section of the base, which must be replaced regularly; an InfinitySwipe alarm indicates when replacement is due.
The appliance must only be operated with alternating current at the permitted voltage and frequency for the country of use. Power sockets must be earthed, electrically protected and easily accessible, and must not be located behind the appliance. A separate circuit is recommended. The appliance must not be connected via extension cables, multi–sockets or inverters due to overheating and fire risks.
Water connection work must not be performed while the appliance is connected to an electrical socket. All repairs and work on the IceMaker must only be carried out by customer service or other trained individuals. The anti–tipping device at the base must be secured to the floor or wall after installation to prevent the appliance from tipping.
Before switching on after transport, the appliance should stand for one hour at the installation location so that fluids in the coolant and lubrication system can be distributed evenly.
The appliance has climate class SN–T, meaning it is designed for operation in ambient temperatures from 10 °C to 43 °C. It should not be operated outside this range in order to maintain optimal cooling performance.
No. The freezer uses NoFrost technology with cooled re–circulated air to remove humidity, keeping the compartment ice–free so manual defrosting is no longer necessary.
The automatic IceMaker creates 1.6 kg of filtered ice in 24 hours. The storage volume ranges from 1.8 kg to 3.5 kg depending on the model. Ice production can be increased further by activating the SuperFrost function.
Yes. The standard door hinge is on the left and is reversible. Reversing the door hinge must be carried out by authorised Liebherr Monolith customer service using the appropriate door hinge exchange set.
A minimum spacing of 76 mm is required from adjoining elements for a 90° door opening. For Side–by–Side units in separate carcasses, a minimum dividing wall width of 102 mm is required to prevent handle collisions when doors open in the same direction, and 154 mm when doors open towards the centre with a 90° limiter.
The appliance must be ventilated via a plinth panel with the door panel finishing at least 102 mm above the floor. Optional 102 mm high stainless steel plinth panels are available in various widths, including 61.0 cm for the EGN 9271.
