The Liebherr Monolith EGN 9171 is a built-in freezer designed for flush installation in kitchen units with a depth of 610–635 mm. With NoFrost, automatic IceMaker, InfinityLight and SoftSystem door damping, it offers convenient freezing and storage in a 245 litre compartment. The freezer may be installed as a stand-alone appliance or Side-by-Side with other Liebherr Monolith refrigerators, freezers or wine cabinets. A Side-by-Side set is required if the spacing between appliances is less than 102 mm or if units are installed in separate carcasses with a dividing wall less than 102 mm thick. For combinations of more than two units, different configurations are possible; however, some configurations may lead to door collisions if minimum distances are not observed.
Side-by-Side sets include a sidewall heater, metal brackets, screws and decorative trim to cover the gap (approx. 6–8 mm) between appliances. The sidewall heater increases energy consumption by 0.4 kWh/24 h for two units and 0.8 kWh/24 h for three units.
The appliance must be operated on alternating current with permitted voltage and frequency for the relevant country. Power sockets must be earthed, electrically protected and not located behind the appliance; they must remain easily accessible. A separate circuit is recommended to avoid defrosting due to failures caused by other appliances.
It must not be connected to unearthed sockets, extension cables, multi-sockets or inverters. Failure to observe these instructions may result in overheating, fire, severe injury or death.
Models fitted with an IceMaker must be connected to a water supply with pressure between 2.8 and 6.2 bar using only the supplied hose. The IceMaker is intended solely to produce ice cubes in normal household quantities using suitable water. The water filter, located in the appliance base, must be replaced regularly; an InfinitySwipe alarm indicates when replacement is due. All repairs and work on the IceMaker must only be undertaken by customer service or other trained individuals.
The appliance is designed for operation within the SN–T climate class, suitable for ambient temperatures from 10 °C to 43 °C. It must not be operated outside these temperature ranges. Before switching on, the appliance should stand in the installation location for one hour to allow fluids in the coolant and lubrication system to distribute evenly.
