The Liebherr ERBdi 9771 / ERBdi 9770 is a tall built-in Monolith refrigerator offering a total volume of 440 litres, including a spacious BioFresh compartment. Designed for flush installation, it features InfinitySwipe electronic controls, InfinityLight interior lighting and an InfinitySpring integrated water dispenser with water filter. With automatic defrosting, adjustable storage shelves and reversible door hinges, it is suitable for premium kitchen projects requiring precise recess dimensions and thoughtful installation details.
The floor in the installation space must be level, even and capable of bearing the weight of the appliance plus approximately 218 kg to 544 kg of food, depending on model net capacity. The substrate must be a hard, rigid material and at the same height as the rest of the room so that ventilation openings remain clear. Recess dimensions at the installation location must be measured correctly and the power socket positioned correctly.
For secure installation, the top and carcass walls should line up flush with the appliance at a depth of at least 102 mm from the outside edge and be at least 16 mm thick. Because the recess is partially visible when the door is opened, the inside should match the unit surface at the top and sides with a minimum depth of 76 mm; designed carcass finishes are recommended.
Monolith appliances are designed for flush installation in units with a depth of 635 mm using stainless steel panels or custom panels available as accessories. Other wood materials up to 25 mm thick may be used, provided the maximum panel weight is not exceeded. A decorative trim to cover the gap between the appliance and the side walls of the fitted unit is included in the scope of supply.
The depth of Monolith appliances is 610 mm, allowing installation in standard European-depth units (610 mm) or deeper cut-outs of 635 mm. For flush installation, door panel dimensions for inset panels must be used; for other options, door spacing requirements must be observed.
Appliance height including packaging and pallet is 2285 mm. Before switching on, the appliance should stand for one hour in the installation location so that fluids in the coolant and lubrication system can distribute evenly.
The adjustable feet are fully retracted for the minimum height. Once positioned in the recess, the appliance is raised from the front using the adjustable feet until it contacts the anti-tipping device. To achieve a minimal plinth panel height of 102 mm, the adjustable feet must be raised by 6–8 mm; for higher plinth panels, they can be raised by up to 19 mm.
Monolith appliances are ventilated entirely via the plinth panel. Door panels must close at least 102 mm above the floor and the plinth grill must not be obstructed. A 102 mm stainless steel plinth panel is optionally available in widths matching Monolith models and Side-by-Side combinations from 45.7 cm to 182.8 cm. The plinth panel is assembled using a pre-assembled adhesive joint.
The appliance must only be operated using alternating current. The permitted voltage and frequency for the relevant country must be observed. Power sockets must be earthed, electrically protected according to regulations, not located behind the appliance and easily accessible so the appliance can be disconnected from the mains if necessary. A separate circuit is recommended to prevent defrosting or food spoilage due to failures caused by other appliances.
The appliance must not be connected to unearthed sockets, extension cables, multi-sockets or inverters. Doing so may result in severe injuries, death or fire due to overheating or imperfect sine wave voltage.
For models fitted with InfinitySpring and/or IceMaker, connection to a water supply is required. Water pressure must be between 2.8 and 6.2 bar and only the supply hose delivered with the appliance may be used. A shut-off valve must be installed between the hose and the mains water supply, positioned so it is not behind the appliance. Connection to the water supply must be performed by a trained and licensed plumber.
Water quality must comply with local drinking water regulations. The IceMaker is intended solely for producing ice cubes in normal household quantities using appropriate water. All devices and systems supplying the appliance with water must meet applicable regional provisions. Monolith appliances with InfinitySpring or IceMaker include a water filter in the front section of the appliance base; it must be replaced regularly, and an InfinitySwipe alarm indicates when replacement is due.
Water connection work must not be performed while the appliance is connected to an electrical socket. Repairs and work on InfinitySpring or IceMaker may only be undertaken by customer service employees or other trained individuals. The manufacturer assumes no responsibility for damage caused by devices or water pipes located between the solenoid valve and the water supply.
Appliances are intended for refrigerating, freezing and storing food and for making ice (if equipped accordingly). The climate class SN–T defines acceptable ambient temperatures from 10 °C to 43 °C. The appliances must not be operated outside the specified ambient temperature ranges. Refrigerant circuits are checked for tightness and appliances meet applicable safety regulations.
Monolith appliances can be installed as stand-alone units with hinge on the left or right. When sizing fitted units, the thickness of the door panel and handle must be considered. To prevent the door and handle from colliding with adjoining elements, a minimum spacing of 76 mm should be included for a door opening limited to 90°.
Appliances may be installed Side-by-Side in a fitted unit or in separate units. If the spacing between appliances is less than 102 mm, a separate Side-by-Side set is required. For back-to-back door positioning, a minimum spacing of 154 mm must be included. When more than two units are combined, options include using two Side-by-Side sets or a carcass side with minimum thickness of 16 mm or 102 mm, depending on whether handle collisions must be avoided. Some configurations may lead to door collisions.
It is essential that the doors, including handles, do not bump into adjoining cupboards, work surfaces, walls or other elements. A 90° door opening limiter (included) can be fitted to reduce the opening angle from 115° to 90° by inserting a peg into the hinge. Additional measures include reducing door panel thickness (if greater than 19 mm), repositioning colliding elements, or using a stopper.
For overlay door panel installation with a 25 mm panel, the panel overlaps the unit carcass frame by 8 mm when closed (alternative 17 mm overlap if the appliance is at the end of the run). For inset installation, a 25 mm panel is fitted within furniture framing. In both cases, the minimum permitted gap between panels is 4 mm. Door panels must close at least 102 mm above the floor.
Wall spacers/air separators included with the appliance must be fitted to the appliance and door to separate warm outgoing air from incoming fresh air. The appliance has a recess at the rear for routing cable and water lines with a depth of 25 mm and height of 140 mm across the entire appliance width. The anti-tipping device positioned at the base must be secured to the floor or wall.
To prevent tipping after installation, the anti-tipping device must be fitted according to the secure mounting instructions supplied. Installations behind the appliance are not possible, and the power socket must not be behind the appliance but remain accessible.
The appliance has a total volume of 440 litres, comprising 250.5 litres in the refrigerator compartment and 190.3 litres in the BioFresh compartment, measured in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2019/2016.
The climate class is SN–T, which means the appliance is designed for operation in ambient temperatures from 10 °C to 43 °C. It should not be operated outside this range.
Models fitted with the InfinitySpring integrated water dispenser and/or IceMaker must be connected to a water supply with pressure between 2.8 and 6.2 bar using the supply hose delivered with the appliance. A shut-off valve must be installed and connection must be carried out by a trained and licensed plumber.
Yes. The ERBdi 9771 is supplied with a left-hand door hinge and the ERBdi 9770 with a right-hand hinge. Door hinge reversal must be performed by authorised Liebherr Monolith customer service.
Door panels must close at least 102 mm above the floor to allow proper ventilation through the plinth panel. The plinth grill must remain unobstructed.
Yes. Monolith appliances can be installed Side-by-Side in fitted or separate units. If the spacing between appliances is less than 102 mm, a separate Side-by-Side set is required. Minimum spacing of 76 mm is needed to avoid collisions for a 90° door opening, and 154 mm is required for back-to-back door positioning or certain multi-unit configurations.
