The Liebherr Monolith EFNei 9771 / EFNei 9770 is a tall built-in freezer designed for flush installation in kitchen units 635 mm deep. It offers a generous 457 litre total volume with NoFrost technology, InfinitySwipe electronic controls and InfinityLight interior lighting. Features include automatic SuperFrost, FrostSafe drawers and a plumbed IceMaker with water filter. It suits homes needing high-capacity freezing with precise temperature control from –14 °C to –27 °C.
The floor must be level, even and capable of bearing the weight of the appliance plus approximately 218–544 kg of food, depending on model net capacity. The floor in the installation area must be at the same height as the rest of the room and allow clear ventilation openings. Recess dimensions must be correctly measured and the power socket positioned appropriately. The appliance height including packaging and pallet is 2285 mm.
Recess planning requires the top and carcass walls to line up flush with the appliance at a depth of at least 102 mm from the outside edge, using material at least 16 mm thick. Because the recess is partially visible when the door is opened, the inside should match the unit surface with a minimum depth of 76 mm. Monolith appliances are designed for flush installation in 635 mm deep units with stainless steel or customer-specific panels.
For custom panels, the maximum permitted panel weight must not be exceeded. The supplied decorative trim covers the gap between the appliance and unit side walls. The appliance depth of 610 mm suits standard 610 mm European units and deeper 635 mm cut-outs.
Door panel thickness must be between 16 mm* and 25 mm, with maximum panel weight 35 kg. For fronts thinner than 16 mm, shorter screws than those supplied must be used. Installations behind the appliance are not possible. The adjustable feet are fully retracted at the minimum height; raising them brings the appliance into contact with the anti-tipping device.
To achieve the minimal plinth panel height of 102 mm, the adjustable feet must be raised by 6–8 mm. For higher plinths, the feet can be raised by up to 19 mm. Door panels must close at least 102 mm above the floor and the plinth grill must remain unobstructed.
Monolith appliances are ventilated entirely via the plinth panel. Wall spacers/air separators supplied with the appliance must be fitted to separate warm outgoing air from incoming fresh air. Liebherr offers an optional 102 mm high stainless steel plinth panel in widths matching Monolith models and Side-by-Side combinations from 45.7 cm to 182.8 cm. The plinth panel depth can be varied and is assembled using a pre-assembled adhesive joint.
Monolith appliances can be installed as stand-alone units or Side-by-Side. When sizing fitted units, the thickness of door panels and handles must be considered. To prevent collision with adjacent elements for a 90° door opening, a minimum spacing of 76 mm is required. For Side-by-Side installations with spacing under 102 mm, a separately available Side-by-Side set is needed. In back-to-back door positioning with 90° opening limiters, a minimum spacing of 154 mm must be allowed.
The appliance must be operated using alternating current within the permitted voltage and frequency for the country. Power sockets must be earthed, electrically protected, not located behind the appliance and easily accessible. A separate circuit is recommended to prevent food spoiling if other appliances cause power failure. The appliance must not be connected to unearthed sockets, extension cables, multi-sockets or inverters, due to risks of electric shock, overheating and fire.
Water connection work must not be performed while the appliance is connected to an electrical socket. A shut-off valve must be installed between the hose line and mains water supply, positioned so it is not behind the appliance. Connection to the water supply must be carried out by a trained and licensed plumber. Water quality must comply with local drinking water regulations, and the IceMaker is only for producing ice cubes in normal household quantities using suitable water.
Appliances with InfinitySpring or IceMaker must be connected to a water supply with pressure between 2.8 and 6.2 bar using only the supplied hose. Where water hardness is high, a water softener is recommended, and a filter is required if solids such as sand are present. All devices and systems supplying water must meet local regulations. A water filter is located in the front section of the appliance base and must be replaced regularly; an InfinitySwipe alarm reminds users when replacement is due.
The appliance is intended for refrigerating, freezing and storing food and for making ice (if equipped accordingly). It is designed for climate class SN–T with ambient temperature range 10 °C to 43 °C. Operating outside this range is not permitted. Refrigerant circuits are checked for tightness and the appliance meets applicable safety regulations.
After installation, the anti-tipping device positioned at the base of the appliance must be secured to the floor or wall to prevent the appliance from tipping. The appliance should be left to stand for one hour in the installation location before switching on, allowing fluids in the coolant and lubrication system to distribute evenly.
To avoid the doors and handles bumping into adjacent cupboards, worktops or walls, the appliance must be positioned so that such collisions are prevented. A 90° door opening limiter (included) can be installed if necessary; the factory setting is 115° and can be restricted to 90° by inserting a peg into the hinge. Alternative solutions include reducing panel thickness if over 19 mm, repositioning colliding elements or using stoppers.
The floor must be level, even and strong enough to support the appliance plus approximately 218–544 kg of food. Recess dimensions of 213.4 / 76.2 / 63.5 cm (H/W/D) are required, with carcass walls at least 16 mm thick and flush with the appliance at a depth of 102 mm from the outside edge. The installation area floor must match the room floor height and allow clear ventilation openings.
Yes. EFNei 9771 is supplied with the door hinge on the left and EFNei 9770 with the hinge on the right. The door hinge is reversible, and hinge reversal must be carried out by authorised Liebherr Monolith customer service.
Ventilation is provided entirely via the plinth panel. Door panels must close at least 102 mm above the floor and the plinth grill must remain unobstructed. Wall spacers/air separators supplied with the appliance must be fitted to separate warm exhaust air from incoming fresh air.
The IceMaker requires a fixed 3/4' water connection with pressure between 2.8 and 6.2 bar, using the hose supplied with the appliance. A shut-off valve must be installed but not located behind the appliance. Water must meet local drinking water regulations; a softener is recommended where hardness is high, and filtration is needed if solids such as sand are present.
The freezer has climate class SN–T and is designed for use in ambient temperatures between 10 °C and 43 °C. It should not be operated outside this temperature range.
The appliance must be connected to an earthed, electrically protected socket that is easily accessible and not located behind the appliance. It must not be connected via extension cables, multi-sockets or inverters. A separate circuit is recommended to reduce the risk of food spoiling due to power interruptions caused by other devices.
