The Liebherr Monolith EWPi 9670 is a built-in wine cabinet designed for storing up to 100 Bordeaux bottles at precise temperatures between +5°C and +20°C. With three temperature zones, InfinityLight interior lighting and telescopic aluminium and beech shelves, it offers flexible storage for serious wine enthusiasts. An insulated glass door, FreshAir activated charcoal filter and advanced InfinitySwipe electronic control help maintain ideal conditions in an integrated kitchen setting.
The appliance is intended for flush installation in units with a depth of 635 mm using stainless steel panels or customer-specific panels. The depth of the appliance is 610 mm, allowing installation in standard European 610 mm fitted units or in deeper 635 mm cut-outs. Recess dimensions for this model are 213.4 cm (H), 61 cm (W) and 63.5 cm (D).
Top and carcass walls must line up flush with the appliance at a depth of at least 102 mm from the outside edge and be at least 16 mm thick. Because parts of the recess are visible when the door is opened, matching finishes for the carcass sides and top are recommended. A decorative trim is supplied to cover the gap between the appliance and the unit side walls.
For inset installation, panel dimensions of H = 2029 mm, W = 603 mm, with an internal aperture h = 1495 mm and w = 432 mm are specified. For overlay installation, panel height is 2032 mm (plus top overlap) and width 610 mm (plus side overlaps). Panel thickness must be at least 16 mm* and at most 25 mm, with maximum panel weight 30 kg.
* When using fronts with a thickness of <16 mm, shorter screws than those provided in the accessory kit must be used.
The floor must be capable of bearing the weight of the appliance plus food, with typical combined loads from approximately 218 kg to 544 kg depending on model. The surface must be level, even and made of a hard, rigid material. The floor in the installation area must be at the same height as the rest of the room so that ventilation openings remain clear.
The appliance height including packaging and pallet is 2285 mm for transport. It should be left to stand for one hour in the installation location before switching on so that fluids in the coolant and lubrication system can distribute evenly.
Adjustable feet are fully retracted for the minimum height. Once positioned in the recess, the appliance is raised from the front using the feet until it contacts the anti-tipping device at the base, which must be secured to the floor or wall. To achieve a minimal plinth panel height of 102 mm, the adjustable feet must be raised by 6–8 mm; they can be raised by up to 19 mm for higher plinth panels.
Monolith appliances are ventilated entirely via the plinth panel. Door panels must close at least 102 mm above the floor and the grill in the plinth panel must not be obstructed. Wall spacers/air separators included in the scope of supply must be fitted to separate warm outgoing air from incoming fresh air.
Liebherr offers an optional 102 mm high stainless steel plinth panel in widths matching Monolith models and Side-by-Side combinations from 45.7 cm to 182.8 cm. The plinth panel has variable position depth and is assembled using a pre-assembled adhesive joint.
Monolith appliances can be installed individually or Side-by-Side in fitted or separate units. When sizing the fitted unit, the thickness of the door panel and handle must be considered. To prevent doors and handles from colliding with adjacent walls or units, a minimum spacing of 76 mm is required for a door opening limited to 90°.
For Side-by-Side installation with spacing less than 102 mm between appliances, a separately available Side-by-Side set is required. In back-to-back door positioning, a minimum spacing of 154 mm must be included to avoid handle collisions. For combinations of three units, options include two Side-by-Side sets or a carcass side of at least 16 mm between units, noting that some configurations can lead to door collisions.
A 90° door opening limiter is included in the scope of delivery. The factory door opening angle is 115° and can be limited to 90° by inserting a peg into the hinge. Minimum panel gap between doors is 4 mm.
The appliance must be operated using alternating current within the permitted voltage and frequency for the country. Power sockets must be earthed, electrically protected and not located behind the appliance; they must remain easily accessible for disconnection. A separate circuit is recommended so that other appliances do not cause power failure and possible spoilage of contents.
The appliance must not be connected to unearthed sockets, extension cables, multi-sockets or inverters due to risks of electric shock, overheating or fire. All electrical safety warnings in the instructions must be observed.
Some Monolith appliances are fitted with an InfinitySpring integrated water dispenser or IceMaker and must be connected to a water supply. The water pressure must be between 2.8 and 6.2 bar and only the supplied hose may be used. A shut-off valve must be installed between the hose and mains water supply, not behind the appliance. Connection must be carried out by a trained and licensed plumber using drinking water quality in accordance with regional regulations.
All appliances with InfinitySpring or IceMaker have a water filter in the appliance base which must be replaced regularly. An InfinitySwipe alarm indicates when filter replacement is due. If water hardness is high, a water softener is recommended, and a filter must be used if solids such as sand are present in the water. Repairs and work on InfinitySpring or IceMaker must only be performed by customer service or trained individuals.
The appliance is designed for refrigerating and storing food and for making ice where equipped. For wine cabinets, the climate class is SN–ST, with permitted ambient temperatures between 10°C and 38°C. It must not be operated outside the specified temperature ranges. Refrigerant circuits are checked for tightness and the appliances meet applicable safety regulations.
To prevent tipping after installation, the anti-tipping device at the base of the appliance must be fitted to the floor or wall in accordance with the installation instructions.
The cabinet has a total volume of 320 litres and can store a maximum of 100 standard 0.75 l Bordeaux bottles.
The temperature range is from +5°C to +20°C, with three separate temperature zones.
Yes. The door hinge is reversible. Appliance door hinge left corresponds to model EWPi 9671 and appliance door hinge right to EWPi 9670. Reversing the hinge should be carried out by authorised Liebherr Monolith customer service.
The specified recess dimensions are 213.4 cm in height, 61 cm in width and 63.5 cm in depth. The unit depth for overlay installation is 635 mm, or 635 mm plus the thickness of the custom panel for inset installation.
Separately available accessories include a handle, stainless steel panel, stainless steel base covers and a Side-by-Side set for combined installations.
As a wine cabinet with climate class SN–ST, it is designed for operation in ambient temperatures from 10°C to 38°C.
