The Liebherr Monolith EGN 9271 is a premium integrated freezer designed for flush installation in fitted kitchens. It offers generous frozen food storage with FrostSafe drawers, NoFrost technology and an automatic IceMaker with fixed water connection. InfinityLight side-wall LED lighting, SoftSystem door damping and flexible door racks support convenient, quiet everyday use. The appliance is suitable for Side-by-Side combinations with compatible Liebherr Monolith refrigerators and other units.
For inset installation the height is 2029 mm with a width of 603 mm. For overlay installation the height is 2032 mm with a width of 610 mm, plus the dimensions of overlapping of the panel. Unit depth for overlay installation is 635 mm; for inset installation 635 mm plus the thickness of the custom panel. The depth of the appliance is 610 mm and it may be installed in standard 610 mm or 635 mm deep cut-outs.
Thickness of the door panel must be a minimum of 16 mm and a maximum of 30 mm. The maximum permitted panel weight is 30 kg. Installations behind the appliance are not possible.
Door panel dimensions are specified separately for inset and overlay panels. Dimension A is stated without a fitted door handle. The door panels must close at least 102 mm above the floor to ensure unobstructed ventilation via the plinth panel. To achieve the minimal plinth panel height of 102 mm, the adjustable feet have to be raised by 6 to 8 mm; they can be raised by a maximum of 19 mm if a higher plinth panel is required.
Liebherr offers stainless steel plinth panels 102 mm high in various widths, including 61.0 cm (article 9901 496) for model EGN 9271. The plinth panel position depth can be varied and is assembled using a pre-assembled adhesive joint.
Monolith appliances are ventilated entirely via the plinth panel; the grille must not be obstructed. Spacers supplied with the appliance must be fitted to separate warm outgoing air from fresh incoming air. To prevent the appliance door and handle from colliding with walls or kitchen elements, a minimum spacing of 76 mm must be included for a door opening limited to 90°.
The door opening angle is set to 115° at the factory but can be limited to 90° with the included door opening limiter. The minimum permitted gap between adjacent panels is 3 mm.
The appliance can be installed individually, Side-by-Side within a fitted unit or Side-by-Side in separate units. If the distance between two integrated units is less than 102 mm, a Side-by-Side set with sidewall heater, brackets, screws and decorative trim is required. The sidewall heater prevents condensation between appliances. Using a Side-by-Side set increases energy consumption by 0.4 kWh/24 h for two units and 0.8 kWh/24 h for three units.
For more than two units, different installation options are possible, including the use of carcass sides (minimum 16 mm) or specified minimum distances of 102 mm or 154 mm to avoid door and handle collisions. In back-to-back door positioning, a minimum spacing of 154 mm must be included.
The floor must be level and capable of bearing the weight of the appliance plus approximately 218 kg to 544 kg of food, depending on model. The recess dimensions must be correctly measured and the power socket located in the correct position and easily accessible. When planning the recess, the top and carcass walls must line up flush with the appliance at a depth of at least 102 mm from the outside edge and be at least 16 mm thick.
Because the unit recess is partially visible when the door is opened, the inside should match the unit surface at the top and sides with a minimum visible depth of 76 mm. Decorative trim is supplied to cover the gap between the appliance and unit side walls. The appliance should be left to stand for one hour in the installation location before switching on, so that the fluids in the coolant and lubrication system can be evenly distributed.
Monolith appliances fitted with an IceMaker must be connected to a water supply with pressure between 2.8 and 6.2 bar. Only the supply hose delivered with the appliance may be used. A shut-off valve must be installed between the hose line and mains water supply and must not be located behind the appliance. The connection to the water supply must be carried out by a trained and licensed plumber, and the water quality must comply with local drinking water regulations.
The IceMaker is solely for producing ice cubes in normal household quantities and must only be used with appropriate water. A water filter is located in the front section of the appliance base and must be replaced regularly. An InfinitySwipe alarm reminds the user when the water filter needs replacing.
The appliance must be operated using alternating current, at the permitted voltage and frequency for the relevant country. Power sockets must be earthed, protected according to regulations, not located behind the appliance and easily accessible. A separate electrical circuit is recommended. The appliance must not be connected via extension cables, multi-sockets or inverters.
The EGN 9271 freezer is intended for refrigerating, freezing and storing food and for making ice. It belongs to climate class SN–T, meaning it is designed for ambient temperatures from 10 °C to 43 °C. The appliance must not be operated outside the specified ambient temperature range.
To prevent the appliance from tipping over after installation, the anti-tipping device positioned at the base must be secured to the floor or wall. Secure mounting is mandatory for safe operation.
Optional accessories are model-specific; only those explicitly listing EGN 9271 are directly applicable to this freezer.
For inset installation the appliance height is 2029 mm with width 603 mm. For overlay installation the height is 2032 mm with width 610 mm, plus the panel overlap on the top and both sides. The appliance depth is 610 mm and the recess depth should be 635 mm (or 635 mm plus panel thickness for inset installation).
The EGN 9271 uses NoFrost technology and an automatic defrosting method. Frozen food is chilled with cooled re-circulated air and humidity is removed, keeping the freezer compartment ice-free and eliminating the need for manual defrosting.
The technical data for EGN 9271 specify an ice cube production of 1.1 kg in 24 hours and a storage capacity of 2.4 kg. General IceMaker information for Monolith appliances states that the automatic IceMaker creates 1.6 kg of filtered ice in 24 hours, with a storage volume between 1.8 kg and 3.5 kg depending on the model. Activating the SuperFrost function can increase production capacity.
The EGN 9271 belongs to climate class SN–T and is designed for ambient temperatures from 10 °C to 43 °C. It should not be operated outside this temperature range to ensure optimal cooling performance.
Yes. The door hinge is supplied on the left and is reversible. Reversing the hinge must be carried out by authorised Liebherr Monolith customer service using a door hinge exchange set.
Yes. The appliance is designed for Side-by-Side installation with other Liebherr Monolith refrigerators, freezers or wine cabinets. If the spacing between integrated units is less than 102 mm, a Side-by-Side set with sidewall heater and connecting brackets must be used to prevent condensation and to stabilise the combination.
