The Liebherr Monolith EFNei 9670 and EFNei 9671 are tall built-in freezers designed for flush installation in fitted kitchens with a cut-out depth of 635 mm. Offering 352 litres of No Frost storage, InfinityLight interior lighting and an automatic SuperFrost function, they suit households needing generous freezing capacity. A fixed water connection supplies the integrated IceMaker with water filter, while InfinitySwipe electronic controls provide precise temperature management from –14 °C to –27 °C.
The floor must be level, even and made of a hard, rigid material, capable of bearing the weight of the appliance plus approximately 218 kg to 544 kg of food, depending on model net capacity. The floor in the installation area must be at the same height as the rest of the room so that ventilation openings remain clear. Recess dimensions must be measured correctly and the power socket must be in the correct position. Appliance height including packaging and pallet is 2285 mm.
For secure installation, top and carcass walls must line up flush with the appliance at a depth of at least 102 mm from the outside edge and be at least 16 mm thick. Because the recess is partially visible when the door is opened, the inside should match the unit surface at the top and sides and have a minimum depth of 76 mm. Designs with customer-specific panels must not exceed the maximum permitted panel weight and a maximum panel thickness of 25 mm.
Monolith appliances are designed for flush installation in units with a depth of 635 mm using stainless steel or customer-specific panels. Appliance depth is 610 mm, so they can be installed in standard European 610 mm units or deeper 635 mm cut-outs. A decorative trim is supplied to cover the gap between the appliance and side walls of the fitted unit.
Installations behind the appliance are not possible. The adjustable feet are fully retracted for the minimum height; turning them raises the appliance to contact the anti-tipping device. To achieve a plinth panel height of 102 mm, the feet must be raised by 6–8 mm; they can be raised by a maximum of 19 mm for higher plinths.
Before switching on, the appliance should stand for one hour at the installation location to allow fluids in the coolant and lubrication system to distribute evenly.
For inset installation the appliance height is 2029 mm and width 603 mm. For overlay installation, appliance height is 2032 mm and width 610 mm, plus the panel overlap at the top and sides. Door panel thickness must be between 16 mm and 25 mm, with a maximum panel weight of 30 kg.
When sizing fitted units, thickness of the door panel and handle must be taken into account. To prevent doors and handles colliding with adjoining elements, a minimum spacing of 76 mm is required for a door opening limited to 90°. For Side-by-Side installations in separate units, a minimum spacing of 154 mm is required if doors open towards the centre with a 90° door opening limiter.
The minimum permitted gap between door panels is 4 mm. A 90° door opening limiter (included in the scope of supply) can be fitted by inserting a stable peg into the hinge. Other options to avoid collisions include reducing panel thickness if greater than 19 mm, repositioning adjoining elements or using a stopper.
Monolith appliances can be installed as stand-alone units or Side-by-Side. When combining units in a single fitted cabinet with spacing less than 102 mm, a Side-by-Side set is required. For separate units, if the dividing wall is less than 102 mm thick, a Side-by-Side set is also necessary. When combining three units, configurations include two Side-by-Side sets or using a carcass side of at least 16 mm between the third unit and the connected pair; in such cases, door collisions may occur.
To determine cut-out width for Side-by-Side combinations, the widths of individual appliances are added; no extra width is required for the Side-by-Side set. Example unit widths include 457 mm, 610 mm, 762 mm and 914 mm, with corresponding combinations for two or three units.
Monolith appliances are ventilated entirely via the plinth panel. Door panels must close at least 102 mm above the floor and the plinth panel grill must not be obstructed. Wall spacers / air separators supplied with the appliance must be fitted to separate warm outgoing air from fresh air. Liebherr provides a 102 mm high stainless steel plinth panel, available in widths matching Monolith models and Side-by-Side combinations from 45.7 cm to 182.8 cm. The plinth panel depth is adjustable and is assembled using a pre-assembled adhesive joint.
The appliance must only be operated using alternating current within the permitted voltage and frequency for the relevant country. Power sockets must be earthed, electrically protected, not located behind the appliance and easily accessible for disconnection. A separate circuit is recommended to prevent defrosting or food spoilage caused by failures from other appliances.
The appliance must not be connected to unearthed sockets, extension cables, multi-sockets or inverters, due to risks of electric shock, overheating and fire. The refrigerant circuits have been checked for tightness and the appliance meets applicable safety regulations.
Water connection work must not be performed while the appliance is connected to an electrical socket. A shut-off valve must be installed between the hose line and mains water supply so the water supply can be stopped if necessary; it must not be located behind the appliance. Connection to the water supply must be undertaken only by a trained and licensed plumber, and water quality must comply with local drinking water regulations.
The IceMaker is intended solely for producing ice cubes in normal household quantities using suitable drinking water. All repairs and work on the InfinitySpring / IceMaker must be undertaken by customer service or other trained individuals. The manufacturer assumes no responsibility for damage caused by devices or water pipes between the solenoid valve and the water supply.
Appliances fitted with InfinitySpring or IceMaker must be connected to a water supply with pressure between 2.8 and 6.2 bar. Only the supply hose delivered with the appliance must be used. If water hardness is high, a water softener is recommended; a filter must also be used if solids such as sand are present. All devices and systems supplying water must meet applicable regional provisions.
All appliances with InfinitySpring or IceMaker have a water filter located in the front section of the appliance base. The water filter must be replaced regularly, and an InfinitySwipe alarm indicates when replacement is due.
The appliance is intended for refrigerating, freezing and storing food and making ice. It is designed for operation within ambient temperature limits defined by climate class SN–T, corresponding to 10 °C to 43 °C. The appliance must not be operated outside this range to ensure optimal cooling performance.
To prevent the appliance from tipping over, the anti-tipping device positioned at the base must be secured to the floor or wall. Additional details are provided in the installation instructions under secure mounting.
The total volume is 352 litres, measured and stated in accordance with Regulation EU 2019/2016.
The appliance has climate class SN–T and is designed for operation in ambient temperatures from 10 °C to 43 °C. It should not be operated outside this range.
No. The freezer uses an automatic defrosting method and is specified as No Frost, so manual defrosting is not required.
The integrated IceMaker, supplied via a fixed 3/4' water connection, can produce 1.1 kg of ice cubes in 24 hours and has a storage capacity of 2.4 kg.
Yes. EFNei 9671 is supplied with a left-hand door hinge and EFNei 9670 with a right-hand hinge, and the door hinge is reversible by authorised Liebherr Monolith customer service.
The appliance must be connected only to an earthed, electrically protected alternating current socket within the specified voltage and frequency range. The socket must be easily accessible and not located behind the appliance. Use of extension cables, multi-sockets or inverters is not permitted due to fire and electric shock risks.
