The Liebherr Monolith EWPi 9471 / EWPi 9470 is a built-in wine cabinet designed for precise storage of up to 75 Bordeaux bottles. With a total volume of 232 litres, two independently controlled temperature zones and a range of Infinity features, it offers flexible conditions for wine preservation. The cabinet includes telescopic aluminium and beech shelves, InfinityLight interior lighting and an insulated glass door, making it suitable for integration into fitted kitchen units or Side-by-Side combinations.
The floor must be capable of bearing the weight of the appliance plus food. The surface must be level, even and made of a hard, rigid material so that ventilation openings remain clear. Recess dimensions for this model are 213.4 cm (H) × 45.7 cm (W) × 63.5 cm (D). Monolith appliances are designed for flush installation in units with a depth of 635 mm using stainless steel panels or customer-specific panels.
Top and carcass walls must line up flush with the appliance at a depth of at least 102 mm from the outside edge and be at least 16 mm thick. Because parts of the recess are visible when the door is opened, a designed carcass finish is recommended with a minimum depth of 76 mm.
The appliance depth is 610 mm, enabling installation in standard European units of 610 mm depth or cut-outs of 635 mm. For flush installation, Inset door panel dimensions must be used. The scope of supply includes a decorative trim to cover the gap between the appliance and the side walls of the fitted unit.
The appliance should only be installed next to Liebherr refrigerators, freezers or wine cabinets designed for Side-by-Side installation. A Side-by-Side set is necessary if spacing between appliances is less than 102 mm. Installing the appliance next to other manufacturers’ refrigerators, freezers or wine cabinets may result in condensation or damage.
Custom door panel thickness must be between a minimum of 16 mm* and a maximum of 25 mm, with a maximum panel weight of 25 kg. The appliance supports inset and overlay installations, with overall installation heights of 2029 mm (inset) and 2032 mm (overlay), excluding panel overlaps. Installations behind the appliance are not possible.
The adjustable feet are fully retracted for the minimum height stated. Once positioned in the recess, the appliance must be raised from the front using the adjustable feet until it contacts the anti-tipping device. To achieve a minimal plinth panel height of 102 mm, the adjustable feet must be raised by 6–8 mm; they can be raised by up to 19 mm for higher plinth panels.
Monolith appliances are ventilated entirely via the plinth panel. The door panels must close at least 102 mm above the floor and the grill in the plinth panel must not be obstructed. Wall spacers/air separators supplied with the appliance must be fitted to separate warm outgoing air from fresh incoming air.
Liebherr provides an optional 102 mm high stainless steel plinth panel in widths matching Monolith models and Side-by-Side combinations from 45.7 cm to 182.8 cm. The plinth panel depth can be varied and is assembled using an adhesive joint pre-assembled on the appliance.
Monolith appliances can be installed as stand-alone units or Side-by-Side. To prevent doors and handles from colliding with adjacent elements, a minimum spacing of 76 mm is required for a door opening limited to 90°. In back-to-back door positioning, a minimum spacing of 154 mm is necessary.
If the door could bump into a wall or neighbouring unit, a 90° door opening limiter (included in the scope of supply) can be installed. The door opening angle is set to 115° at the factory and can be limited to 90° by inserting a peg into the hinge. The minimum permitted gap between panels is 4 mm.
The appliance must only be operated using alternating current at the permitted voltage and frequency for the relevant country. Power sockets must be earthed, electrically protected, easily accessible and must not be located behind the appliance. A separate circuit is recommended so that food storage is not affected by failures caused by other appliances.
The appliance must not be connected to unearthed sockets, extension cables, multi-sockets or inverters due to the risk of electric shock, overheating or fire. The refrigerant circuit has been checked for tightness and the appliance meets applicable safety regulations. An anti-tipping device at the base must be secured to the floor or wall to prevent the appliance from tipping over.
Wine cabinets are designed for operation within the SN-ST climate class, corresponding to ambient temperatures from 10°C to 38°C. The appliance is intended for refrigerating, freezing and storing food and, where equipped, for making ice. It must not be operated outside of the specified ambient temperature range.
Some Monolith appliances are fitted with InfinitySpring or IceMaker and must be connected to a water supply. The water pressure must be between 2.8 and 6.2 bar. Only the supply hose delivered with the appliance may be used. A shut-off valve must be installed between the hose line and the mains water supply and must not be located behind the appliance. Connection to the water supply must be carried out by a trained and licensed plumber, and the water quality must meet local drinking water regulations.
All such appliances have a water filter located in the front section of the appliance base. The filter must be replaced regularly; an InfinitySwipe alarm indicates when replacement is due. The IceMaker is solely for producing ice cubes in normal household quantities and must only be used with suitable water.
IMPORTANT: To prevent potential damage, the appliance should stand for one hour in its installation location before being switched on so that fluids in the coolant and lubrication system can distribute evenly.
The cabinet can store a maximum of 75 Bordeaux bottles with a capacity of 0.75 litres each, within a total interior volume of 232 litres.
The temperature range is from +5°C to +20°C across two separate temperature zones, controlled by the InfinitySwipe electronic control system.
Yes. The door hinge is reversible. Appliance door hinge left corresponds to model EWPi 9471 and appliance door hinge right to model EWPi 9470. Reversing the hinge must be carried out by authorised Liebherr Monolith customer service.
The door panels must close at least 102 mm above the floor, and the plinth grill must not be blocked because ventilation occurs entirely via the plinth. Adjustable feet must be set so that the appliance contacts the anti-tipping device while maintaining the required plinth height.
Yes. Monolith appliances can be installed Side-by-Side in fitted units or separate units. If the spacing between installed appliances is less than 102 mm, a Side-by-Side set is required. Adequate spacing must be allowed to prevent door or handle collisions.
