Installation, Planning and Safety Information
Installation space requirements
- The floor must support the weight of the appliance plus approximately 218 kg to 544 kg of food, depending on model.
- The surface must be level, even and made from a hard, rigid material at the same height as the rest of the room.
- Ventilation openings must remain clear; the appliance must be underlaid or levelled to floor level.
- Recess dimensions at the installation location must be correctly measured and the power socket positioned correctly.
- Appliance height including packaging and pallet is 2285 mm.
- The appliance should only be installed next to Liebherr refrigerators, freezers or wine cabinets.
Recess and panel requirements
- Top and carcass walls must line up flush with the appliance at a depth of at least 102 mm from the outside edge and be at least 16 mm thick.
- Because the unit recess is partially visible when the door is opened, matching designed carcass finishes are recommended with a minimum depth of 76 mm.
- Appliances are designed for flush installation in units with a depth of 635 mm using stainless steel panels or customer‑specific panels.
- Custom panels must not exceed the maximum permitted panel weight of 25 kg and may be made of wood up to 25 mm thick.
- A decorative trim is supplied to cover the gap between the appliance and side walls of the fitted unit.
- Appliance depth is 610 mm, allowing installation in standard 610 mm units or deeper 635 mm cut‑outs.
- For flush installation, use the dimensions for an Inset door panel; otherwise observe door spacing requirements.
Door panel dimensions
Inset installation: H = 2029 mm, h = 1495 mm; W = 451 mm, w = 280 mm. Overlay installation: H = 2032 mm (plus panel overlap at the top); W = 457 mm (plus panel overlap on both sides). Panel thickness must be minimum 16 mm* and maximum 25 mm; maximum panel weight 25 kg. Installations behind the appliance are not possible.
* When using fronts with a thickness of <16 mm, shorter screws than those provided in the accessory kit must be used.
Plinth, ventilation and anti‑tipping
- The appliance is ventilated entirely via the plinth panel; the door panels must close at least 102 mm above the floor and the grill must not be obstructed.
- Wall spacers/air separators supplied must be fitted to separate warm outgoing air from fresh incoming air.
- A 102 mm high stainless steel plinth panel is available as an optional accessory in widths from 45.7 cm to 182.8 cm.
- Adjustable feet are fully retracted at the stated minimum height; raising them by 6–8 mm achieves a minimal plinth height of 102 mm, with a maximum raising of 19 mm.
- The anti‑tipping device positioned at the base must be secured to the floor or wall.
Door spacing and installation options
- All Monolith appliances can be installed as stand‑alone units with hinge on the left or right.
- Allow a minimum spacing of 76 mm from adjoining walls or kitchen elements for a door opening limited to 90°.
- A 90° door opening limiter is included; the door opening angle is 115° ex works and can be limited to 90° using a peg in the hinge.
- Side‑by‑Side installation in a fitted unit or separate units requires a Side‑by‑Side set if spacing between appliances is less than 102 mm.
- For three‑unit combinations, various configurations are described; minimum distances of 102 mm or 154 mm may be necessary to avoid door and handle collisions.
Electrical and water‑related safety
- The appliance must be operated using alternating current within the permitted voltage and frequency for the relevant country.
- Power sockets must be earthed, electrically protected, not located behind the appliance and easily accessible; a separate circuit is recommended.
- Do not connect the appliance to unearthed sockets, extension cables, multi‑sockets or inverters due to risks of electric shock or fire.
- For models with InfinitySpring or IceMaker (depending on model), water pressure must be between 2.8 and 6.2 bar and only the supplied hose may be used.
- A shut‑off valve must be installed between the hose line and mains water supply and must not be located behind the appliance; water connection work must not be performed while the appliance is connected to an electrical socket.
- The water connection must be made by a trained and licensed plumber; the water must comply with local drinking water regulations.
- All appliances with InfinitySpring or IceMaker have a water filter in the front section of the base; it must be replaced regularly and an InfinitySwipe alarm provides reminders.
Ambient temperature and operation
- Wine cabinets have climate class SN–ST and are designed for ambient temperatures from 10 °C to 38 °C.
- Do not operate the appliance outside of the specified ambient temperature ranges.
- The refrigerant circuits are checked for tightness and the appliances meet applicable safety regulations.
- To prevent potential damage, the appliance should stand for one hour in the installation location before switching on, so fluids in the coolant and lubrication system can distribute evenly.
