The Liebherr Monolith EFNei 9471 / EFNei 9470 is a tall built-in freezer designed for flush installation in kitchen units with a depth of 635 mm. Offering 245 litres of total volume, NoFrost technology and three FrostSafe drawers, it suits households needing generous frozen storage. Features such as InfinitySwipe electronic controls, InfinityLight interior lighting and an IceMaker with fixed water connection support convenient everyday use and flexible planning in modern kitchens.
The floor in the installation space must support the weight of the appliance plus approximately 218 kg to 544 kg of food, be level and made of a hard, rigid material at the same height as the rest of the room. Recess dimensions must be correctly measured and the power socket positioned correctly. Appliance height including packaging and pallet is 2285 mm for transport.
For secure installation, the top and carcass walls must line up flush with the appliance at a depth of at least 102 mm from the outside edge and be at least 16 mm thick. Because parts of the recess are visible when the door is opened, the internal surfaces should match the kitchen finish with a minimum depth of 76 mm.
Monolith appliances are designed for flush installation in units with a depth of 635 mm and can be fitted with stainless steel panels or customer-specific panels, provided maximum permitted panel weight and 16–25 mm panel thickness (minimum 16 mm) are observed. A decorative trim is supplied to cover the gap between appliance and side walls.
Appliance depth is 610 mm and allows installation in standard European 610 mm units or deeper 635 mm cut-outs. For flush installation, inset door panel dimensions must be used; for other options, door spacing requirements must be followed.
Door panel thickness must be between 16 mm* and 25 mm, with a maximum panel weight of 25 kg. When using fronts thinner than 16 mm, shorter screws than those supplied must be used. Installations behind the appliance are not possible.
* Minimum panel thickness 16 mm.
Adjustable feet are fully retracted at the minimum appliance height and are adjusted from the front once the unit is in the recess so that it contacts the anti-tipping device. To achieve the minimal plinth panel height of 102 mm, the feet must be raised by 6–8 mm; for higher plinth panels they can be raised by up to 19 mm.
Monolith appliances can be installed as stand-alone units or Side-by-Side. When installed Side-by-Side in a fitted unit with spacing less than 102 mm, a Side-by-Side set is required. For separate units with a dividing wall thinner than 102 mm, a Side-by-Side set is also needed.
To prevent doors and handles from colliding with adjoining elements, a minimum spacing of 76 mm must be allowed for a 90° door opening. For back-to-back door positioning, a minimum spacing of 154 mm is necessary. If three units are combined, configurations with carcass sides or Side-by-Side sets must take potential door collisions into account.
Ventilation is provided entirely via the plinth panel. Door panels must close at least 102 mm above the floor and the plinth grill must not be obstructed. Wall spacers/air separators supplied with the appliance must be fitted to separate warm outgoing air from fresh incoming air. An optional stainless steel plinth panel with 102 mm height is available in widths matching Monolith models and Side-by-Side combinations from 45.7 cm to 182.8 cm.
The minimum permitted gap between door panels is 4 mm. A 90° door opening limiter is included; the door opening angle is 115° ex works and can be reduced to 90° by inserting a peg into the hinge. Other solutions to avoid collisions include reducing panel thickness if over 19 mm, repositioning adjacent elements or using a stopper.
For overlay and inset panel installations with example panel thickness of 25 mm, diagrams specify the relationships between furniture framing, panel overlap and door opening positions at 90° and 115°.
The appliance must be operated on alternating current within the permitted voltage and frequency for the country. Power sockets must be earthed, electrically protected, not located behind the appliance and easily accessible. A separate circuit is recommended to avoid food spoilage due to failures caused by other appliances.
The appliance must not be connected to unearthed sockets, extension cables, multi-sockets or inverters due to risks of electric shock, overheating and fire. Water connection work must not be performed while the appliance is connected to the electrical socket.
A shut-off valve must be installed between the hose line and mains water supply and must not be positioned behind the appliance. The water connection must be made by a trained and licensed plumber, and water quality must comply with local drinking water regulations. The IceMaker is for producing ice cubes in normal household quantities using suitable water.
Monolith appliances with IceMaker must be connected to a water supply delivering 2.8–6.2 bar pressure using only the supplied hose. A water softener is recommended where hardness is high, and an additional filter should be used if solids such as sand are present. All devices and systems used must meet regional provisions. Water filters are located in the front section of the appliance base and must be replaced regularly; an InfinitySwipe alarm reminds users when replacement is due.
Appliances are intended for refrigerating, freezing, storing food and making ice. This model is designed for climate class SN–T with ambient temperatures from 10 °C to 43 °C and must not be operated outside this range. Refrigerant circuits have been checked for tightness and appliances meet applicable safety regulations.
The anti-tipping device positioned at the base must be secured to the floor or wall to prevent the appliance from tipping. Installation instructions in the secure mounting chapter must be followed. The appliance should be left to stand for one hour before switching on so that fluids in the coolant and lubrication system are evenly distributed.
The appliance should only be installed next to Liebherr refrigerators, freezers or wine cabinets which are designed for Side-by-Side installation using the appropriate Side-by-Side set. Installation next to non-Liebherr units may cause condensation or damage.
The recess must measure 213.4 / 45.7 / 63.5 cm (H/W/D). The surrounding carcass walls must be at least 16 mm thick, line up flush with the appliance at a depth of at least 102 mm from the outside edge and provide a visible recess depth of at least 76 mm.
Yes. Monolith appliances can be installed Side-by-Side in fitted or separate units. If the spacing between appliances is less than 102 mm or the dividing wall is thinner than 102 mm, a separately available Side-by-Side set is required. Minimum spacing of 76 mm is needed to avoid door collisions for a 90° opening, and 154 mm for back-to-back doors.
Ventilation takes place via the plinth panel. Door panels must finish at least 102 mm above the floor and the plinth grill must remain unobstructed. Wall spacers or air separators supplied with the appliance must be installed to keep warm exhaust air separate from incoming fresh air.
The IceMaker requires a water supply pressure between 2.8 and 6.2 bar. Only the supply hose delivered with the appliance may be used, and a shut-off valve must be fitted between the hose and mains water supply, positioned where it is not behind the appliance.
This freezer is designed for climate class SN–T and can be used in ambient temperatures from 10 °C to 43 °C. It must not be operated outside these temperature ranges to ensure optimal performance and safety.
The water filter is located in the front section of the appliance base and must be replaced regularly. An InfinitySwipe alarm will remind you when it is time to replace the water filter.
