The Liebherr Monolith EFNei 9471 / EFNei 9470 is a built-in freezer designed for flush installation in fitted kitchen units with a depth of 635 mm. Offering a total volume of 245 litres, it features NoFrost freezing, InfinitySwipe electronic controls and InfinityLight interior lighting. With automatic SuperFrost, FrostSafe drawers and an IceMaker with fixed water connection and water filter, it is suitable for households needing reliable freezing performance and flexible storage.
The floor in the installation area must be level, even and capable of bearing the weight of the appliance plus food (approx. minimum 218 kg to maximum 544 kg depending on model). The substrate must be a hard, rigid material and at the same height as the rest of the room. The appliance must be underlaid or levelled so that ventilation openings remain clear. Recess dimensions at the installation location must be measured correctly and the power socket positioned correctly.
For flush installation, the top and carcass walls of the unit must line up flush with the appliance at a depth of at least 102 mm from the outside edge and be made from material at least 16 mm thick. Because parts of the unit recess are visible when the door is opened, the interior surfaces should match the unit surface with a minimum depth of 76 mm. Monolith appliances are designed for units with a depth of 635 mm and an appliance depth of 610 mm, allowing installation in standard European 610 mm units or deeper cut-outs of 635 mm.
Customer-specific door panels must not exceed the maximum permitted panel weight for the relevant model and must be between 16 mm and 25 mm thick. The appliance is supplied with decorative trim to cover gaps between the appliance and unit side walls. Installations behind the appliance are not possible.
The appliance should only be installed next to Liebherr refrigerators, freezers or wine cabinets. If installed next to other brands, condensation or damage may occur. Monolith appliances are designed to be set up Side-by-Side; a Side-by-Side set is required when spacing between appliances is less than 102 mm.
Before switching on, the appliance should stand for one hour in the installation location so that fluids in the coolant and lubrication system can distribute evenly. Appliance height including packaging and pallet is 2285 mm; transport routes must accommodate this when tilted.
Door panel dimensions for inset and overlay installation are specified with inset height 2029 mm and width 451 mm, and overlay height 2032 mm and width 457 mm for this model. Panel thickness must be at least 16 mm and at most 25 mm, with maximum panel weight 25 kg. The appliance uses an individual or continuous plinth panel with a minimum height of 102 mm.
Monolith appliances are ventilated entirely via the plinth panel. Door panels must close at least 102 mm above the floor and the plinth grill must not be obstructed. Wall spacers/air separators supplied with the appliance must be fitted to separate warm outgoing air from fresh incoming air. Liebherr provides an optional 102 mm high stainless steel plinth panel in widths from 45.7 cm to 182.8 cm to match various Monolith models and Side-by-Side combinations.
It is essential to install the appliance so that the doors, including handles, do not bump into adjoining units or walls. A 90° door opening limiter (supplied) can be fitted to restrict door opening from 115° to 90° by inserting a peg into the hinge. Alternative solutions include reducing door panel thickness where it exceeds 19 mm, repositioning adjoining elements or using a stopper.
Monolith appliances can be positioned individually, Side-by-Side in a single fitted unit, Side-by-Side in separate units, or in combinations of three units. When calculating cut-out width for Side-by-Side combinations, individual appliance widths are added; no extra width is required for the Side-by-Side set. A minimum spacing of 76 mm is required to prevent handles colliding with neighbouring walls or units when doors open to 90°. For back-to-back doors opening towards each other, a minimum spacing of 154 mm is required.
For three-unit combinations, different configurations are possible using two Side-by-Side sets or additional carcass sides. Certain configurations may lead to door collisions; minimum distances of 102 mm or 154 mm are required to avoid handle collisions depending on door opening direction and use of the 90° limiter.
The appliance must only be operated using alternating current. Permitted voltage and frequency must match the appliance design for the country of use. Power sockets must be earthed, electrically protected and easily accessible; they must not be located behind the appliance. A separate electrical circuit is recommended to avoid food spoilage caused by power failure from other appliances.
The appliance must not be connected to unearthed sockets, extension cables, multi-sockets or inverters due to risks of electric shock, overheating or fire. All relevant safety warnings must be observed to prevent severe injury or death. The refrigerant circuit has been checked for tightness and the appliance meets applicable safety regulations.
Appliances fitted with InfinitySpring or IceMaker, including this model with IceMaker, must be connected to a water supply. Water pressure must be between 2.8 and 6.2 bar. Only the supply hose delivered with the appliance may be used. A shut-off valve must be installed between the hose line and mains water supply, positioned so it is not behind the appliance. Water quality must comply with local drinking water regulations.
The IceMaker is intended solely for producing ice cubes in normal household quantities and must only be used with suitable water. All repairs and work on the InfinitySpring/IceMaker must be carried out by customer service or trained individuals. The manufacturer assumes no responsibility for damage caused by devices or pipes between the solenoid valve and water supply.
Appliances with InfinitySpring or IceMaker include a water filter located in the front section of the appliance base. The filter must be replaced regularly. An InfinitySwipe alarm reminds users when filter replacement is due. If local water hardness is high, a water softener is recommended, and a filter must be used where solids such as sand are present in the water. All water-supply devices and systems must comply with regional regulations.
Appliances with climate class SN–T are designed for ambient temperatures from 10 °C to 43 °C. Operating outside this range is not permitted, as optimal cooling performance cannot be guaranteed. This appliance is intended for refrigerating, freezing and storing food and making ice where equipped accordingly.
To prevent the appliance from tipping after installation, the anti-tipping device positioned at the base must be secured to the floor or wall. Adjustable feet are fully retracted at the minimum appliance height. After positioning in the recess, the appliance is raised from the front via the adjustable feet until it contacts the anti-tipping device. To achieve a minimal plinth panel height of 102 mm, the adjustable feet must be raised by 6–8 mm; for higher plinth panels, feet can be raised by up to 19 mm.
The appliance itself measures 212.6 cm high, 45 cm wide and 61 cm deep. It requires a recess of 213.4 cm in height, 45.7 cm in width and 63.5 cm in depth. The surrounding unit should have a depth of 635 mm for flush installation.
Yes. The integrated IceMaker uses a fixed 3/4' water connection and must be connected to a water supply with pressure between 2.8 and 6.2 bar. The supplied hose must be used, and a shut-off valve must be installed between the hose and mains water supply.
Yes. The door hinge is reversible. EFNei 9471 is supplied with the hinge on the left and EFNei 9470 with the hinge on the right. Reversing the hinge must be carried out by authorised Liebherr Monolith customer service.
The freezer compartment temperature range is −14 °C to −27 °C. The appliance has climate class SN–T, meaning it is designed for ambient temperatures between 10 °C and 43 °C.
Ventilation occurs entirely via the plinth panel. Door panels must finish at least 102 mm above the floor, and the plinth grill must remain unobstructed. Wall spacers/air separators supplied with the appliance must be fitted to ensure separation of warm outgoing air and fresh incoming air.
Yes. Monolith appliances, including this model, can be installed Side-by-Side in fitted units or separate units. Where spacing between appliances is less than 102 mm, a Side-by-Side set is required. Minimum clearances of 76 mm or 154 mm must be observed to avoid door and handle collisions.
