Installation and Ventilation Requirements

Proper ventilation is essential for cooling performance, energy consumption and lifespan. The heat generated at the condenser fins on the back of the minibar must be transferred with sufficient airflow to the ambient air.

Level installation – the minibar must be placed on a stable surface that is level in both directions.
Clearance to wall – leave at least 20 mm clearance between the cooling unit at the rear and the furniture or wall.
Chimney-like airflow – provide ventilation in a chimney-like flow of air, with air inlet below the unit and air outlet above; side ventilation must be avoided.
Minimum air inlet and outlet – for HiPro NTE series (including N30), the free ventilation space for incoming and outgoing air should be at least 200 cm² each.
Ventilation duct size – the ventilation duct must at least measure 105 mm times the width of the refrigerator, with the entire cooling unit projecting into the duct.
Vent grills – if ventilation grills are used, each must provide at least 200 cm² free opening for incoming and outgoing air for HiPro NTE minibars.
Inlet options – the air inlet can be provided via a cut-out, slots, a grill or an arched opening in the toe kick, with at least 200 cm² free air inlet.
Unobstructed outflow – the outflow air vent must exit into free space in the room and must not vent into an enclosed space such as a cupboard, case good or ceiling void.
Back panel opening – it is advised to cut a hole in the back of the surrounding furniture where the minibar is situated to maximise airflow.
Furniture door position – place the minibar approximately 10 mm inside the furniture door, ensuring dimensions conform with ventilation requirements.
Environment – do not place the minibar in direct sunlight or next to heating radiators, windows or curtains, and never cover ventilation grills or slots.
Mains access – the mains plug/socket must remain freely accessible once the minibar has been installed.
Product warranty – warranty is only valid if the minibar is installed as described in the installation manual.

As a guideline for built-in versions, 15 mm can be added to the height, 30 mm to the width and 20 mm to the depth of the product dimensions to calculate cavity dimensions.
