Installation and Ventilation Requirements

Proper ventilation and installation are essential for efficient cooling performance, low energy consumption and a long service life. The minibar should stand on a stable, horizontal surface and not be placed directly near a heat source or in direct sunlight.

General ventilation for minibars

• The heat extracted from the interior is emitted at the back of the minibar and must be removed by sufficient airflow.
• Insufficient ventilation can reduce cooling capacity, increase energy consumption and lower the unit’s lifespan.
• For HiPro Absorption and Compressor minibars, the free ventilation space for incoming air should be at least 150 cm² and for outgoing air at least 200 cm².
• Air inlet should be positioned below the unit and air outlet above, creating a chimney-like airflow.
• Side ventilation must be avoided.

Standard installation requirements

• The refrigerator or minibar must be level in both directions.
• Leave at least 20 mm clearance to the wall at the rear of the fridge.
• Ventilation must be provided as shown in alternatives A, B, C or D (chimney-like airflow).
• The ventilation duct must measure at least 105 mm by the width of the refrigerator.
• Only the entire cooling unit should project into the ventilation duct.
• Air passing through the duct must not be preheated by any source of heat.
• Ventilation grills, if used, must have openings of at least 200 cm² for incoming and outgoing air for standard units.
• The mains plug or socket must remain freely accessible once the fridge is installed.
• Never cover ventilation grills or slots.

Furniture integration guidelines

• Place the fridge approximately 10 mm inside the furniture door.
• Cavity dimensions must conform with the ventilation requirements.
• As a guideline for built-in versions, add 15 mm to product height, 30 mm to width and 20 mm to depth to obtain cavity dimensions.
• The outflow air vent must exit into free space in the room and must not vent into an enclosed space such as a cupboard, case good or ceiling void.
• A hole in the back of the surrounding furniture is advised to maximise airflow.

Standard fridge ventilation (applies to relevant models)

For standard absorption, compressor and thermoelectric fridges, a minimum free air inlet of 200 cm² is recommended, with a matching free air outlet of at least 200 cm². The inlet vent can be created using a cut-out, slots, a grill or an arched opening in the toe kick. Both in-flow (cool air) and out-flow (warm air) vents are vital to push warm air through the cooling unit and out into the ambient air.

Product warranty is only valid if the minibar is installed as described in the installation manual and used for its intended purpose in accordance with all instructions, guidelines and warnings.
