So has the man behind We-sell-it.
But a good connection is worth keeping.
Hi, I’m Ellis and in 1997, I started We-sell-it, with the entire range of Dr Marten Boots and a desire to sell many other things on an internet that looked very different from today. Finding out what was possible was part of the fun.
Over time I drifted into kitchen appliances, which became the main focus of a business that eventually found its home with my supplier, Woodalls. My interests took me in a different direction. This little corner of the internet still connects the two.
We-sell-it opens its doors online. Selling an eclectic range including Dr Marten Boots, Papworth Travel Goods, Bohemia Crystal, Fiesta Outdoor Space Heaters, and Smeg Kitchen appliances. All I needed were catalogues, pictures and prices (if only I had AI, it would have all been much quicker).
Most of the original range had disappeared. We Sell It was now an established appliance store serving retail and the trade. While I was selling the Smeg appliances, Woodalls were already supplying my other appliances.
Woodalls takes over the whole site, continuing to trade through the We-sell-it.co.uk domain. I take a back seat in an advisory capacity (in truth, by this stage most of my work had been conducted from a beach in summer or a mountain in winter for some time—I was a very early adopter of remote “working”).
Woodalls has its own online home. This domain is back with me. And curiosity continues.
I no longer sell appliances here. That part of the story continues at Woodalls, a family-run kitchen appliance specialist established in 1967, with a showroom in North West London.
