• Exterior - The hotel sits on a bed of black lava with a golf course and ocean surrounding it. There are two buildings on the grounds on two levels from rising from the beach to the mountain.
• General - There are freshwater pools and poolside whirlpools to take a swim as well as the ocean below. The tennis complex houses 13 courts, a state-of-the-art video training center and a pro shop. Environmently sensitive 18 hole golf coarse offers world class golfing. The only helipad at a hotel is housed here. Laurance Rockefeller's vast collection of Asian and Pacific art still graces the walls and lush tropical grounds.
• Lobby - The open-air lobby is large in size with the beach in view from the inside. A waiting area with couches, chairs and tables is accessable to guests. Plants and Asian & Pacific art grace the lobby and common areas.
• Location - The oceanside resort is located on the Kohala Coast on the Big Island of Hawaii.
• Restaurant - Dining options at the hotel range from casual fare to elegant. You can chose from lavish breakfast buffets, to seafood, to barbeque to the island's favorite Sunday brunch from guests and locals alike. A famous Hawaiin luau is offered as well to guests.
