- Exterior - Grey-colour modern high-rise building.
- General - The Excelsior is suited to budget-minded groups and individuals wishing to stay near the heart of the city. Nov98
- Lobby - The lobby is a bit small in size and as it is connected to a shopping centre, there are always people passing through the lobby. The marble flooring looks a bit old with age.
- Location - The Excelsior hotel is located in the hub of Singapore's business and leisure district. In the immediate vicinity are many of Singapore's bargain shopping centres and it is about 5 mins walk to the city hall mrt station which offers easy connections to all other directions.
- Restaurant - The hotel itself has a coffee house which offers western and local delights. There is a bar on the fifth-floor where guests can have drinks in a casual atmosphere.
- Rooms - They are medium in size, simple but adequately furnished, mostly in light beige colours. Most of the rooms, especially on higher floors have excellent views over the city. The bathrooms are rather small and the white marble flooring has turned a bit yellowish with age.
