Hotel Reports
- Exterior - The hotel was once the Royal Maternity Hospital. Although the hospital has ceased to operate since the 1950s the building still has an imposing grandeur in the traditional Scottish baronial style.
- General - This is a very high-class 3-star property with a great location. Modern and individual.
- Lobby - The lobby is bright and lightly furnished and medium-sized. There is a small dispensing bar at reception as the hotel has no lounge bar. Modern and tastefully decorated.
- Location - A couple of minutes' walk from Grassmarket, within easy reach of both the castle and Princes Street in the centre of the city.
- Restaurant - The hotel has no restaurant, but breakfast is served in an adjacent restaurant, which also offers lunch and evening meals, and is owned by the hotel.
- Rooms - The rooms vary in size from medium to large, but all are spacious and furnished in a contemporary style, with terracotta and blue prominent. The rooms are in excellent condition, as are the bathrooms. There is a very good choice of satellite channels available in each room, as well as modem points.
