Hotel Reports
- Exterior - The hotel is an 800 year old Castle built from pink sandstone. It is floodlit at night and has a very gothic feel to it.
- General - The library bar is situated in the original library and guest can relax in front of the log fire and read books which are 200 years old. April 1998
- Lobby - The lobby area is very small but there is a foyer area where groups can assemble. The floors and walls are the original flagstone, and reflect the mood of the Castle. There is a sweeping staircase leading up to the library bar and the bedroom floors. On the walls are tapestries.
- Location - This hotel is situated in hundreds of acres of forest, surrounded by a river, pasture and Parkland and overlooks the banks of the South Esk. It is 20 minutes drive from the centre of Edinburgh.
- Restaurant - This is in the original dungeons and coats of armour hang on the walls. Tables are candlelit.
- Rooms - The bedrooms are different sizes and have the original thick Castle walls. Each room is individually decorated and many of them are themed rooms. They have huge fire places and chintz bedcovers and curtains. 75 % of the bathrooms are average in size and 25% are large. The have all brand new fixtures and fittings.
