- Exterior - This is a modern hotel with an attractive exterior designed to blend with its medieval neighbours.
- General - Guests have full use of the hotel's leisure club; with all facilities complimentary except the solarium which is charged. Massage, aromatherapy and reiki treatments are also charged and can be booked in advance.An excellent hotel with a fabulous location.(ML 06/01)
- Lobby - The lobby is large and spacious with marble floors leading to ample seating areas in the adjacent lounge where light meals are served.
- Location - Superbly located on the Royal Mile, halfway between Edinburgh Castle and Holyrood Palace. It has a close proximity to Princes Street, Waverley rail station and the Edinburgh International Conference Centre.
- Restaurant - The hotel's restaurant - Carubber's - offers a relaxed environment in which to enjoy contemporary Scottish cuisine, including the ubiquitous full Scottish breakfast.Dickson's Lounge and Bar offers snacks and drinks 24 hours a day.
- Rooms - All 238 double and twin-bedded guest rooms are large and spacious and designed in a classically Scottish style with a hint of tartan. There are no single rooms, all bookings for one person are allocated a twin or double room. The bathrooms boast under-floor heating.
