- Exterior - The hotel is a 17 storey, high-rise building.
- General - One of the first international hotels in Wellington, renovated in 1999 to bring it to a much higher standard. VU060301brox.
- Lobby - The hotel has a medium sized lobby with pleasant furnishings, and a bust of James Cook.
- Location - Situated in the heart of Wellington with direct access to Lambton Quay, which offers the best shopping in Wellington. 10 minute walk to the Parliament, Convention centre, Te Papa museum (NZ history), the cable car and the Botanical Gardens. This hotel is a bit of an icon in New Zealand's capital.
- Restaurant - There is a restaurant for sumptuous buffet, or a la carte serving international cuisine. There is also a bar which proves to be a popular meeting spot.
- Rooms - The rooms are well equipped, in good condition with all facilities, including bathrobes.
