- Exterior - 10 storey rectangular building consisting of 2 wings.
- General - Refurbished rooms and public areas in 2000. Very close to the centre (walking distance), it is in a quiet location, near a large park. In 2000 won New Zealand 'Hotel of the Year' award, in 2001 was a finalist.0701VU
- Lobby - Large lobby, renovated 2000, with a piano bar on the same level, as well as a restaurant.
- Location - Located on the edge of the city, near the University, and Auckland Domain a few minutes walk to Queen Street shopping. Hotel operates a complimentary shuttle to the city centre, theatres and waterfront. Commercial centre is located in this area.
- Restaurant - SBF Brasserie & Oyster Bar, located on the Lobby level, offers buffet and a la carte. Partington Grill is considered one of the best restaurants in Auckland, located off the Lobby. Some Place Else is a lively bar, providing a casual menu, also on the lobby level.
- Rooms - Large rooms, tastefully furnished, renovated early 2000. They include a desk, modem point, mini bar, colour TV with pay movies, tea/coffee makers, and hair dryer. Good bathrooms with nice amenities.
