• Exterior - This is a very modern building.
• General - This is an excellent property and is suitable for all markets and for both groups and individuals. It could be a first class hotel but it prefers to maintain 4 star standard and 3 star category. As of summer 2003, hotel guests will be able to access the swimming pool next door directly from the hotel grounds, making this the only hotel in Amsterdam with access to an outdoor swimming pool. 12/02/jg
• Lobby - The lobby is medium in size and very modern, with plenty of light from the floor to ceiling windows. It is an atrium-style lobby with works of art on the walls, which are very impressive and all for sale. There is a marble floor and a marble lobby and limited, but attractive, seating. The bar is located just off the lobby and is large and in the style of a typical Dutch brown cafe with wooden floors and tables and dark brown ceilings, giving a cosy and traditional feel.
• Location - The hotel is located approximately 10 minutes from central station and overlooking the harbour and approx 20 minutes from Schiphol Airport. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel.
• Restaurant - The restaurant is located on the ground floor and is also a little different to your normal hotel restaurant with purple carpet and purple chairs, artwork on the walls, beamed ceiling and a semi-circular breakfast buffet bar. It overlooks the gardens and next door's outdoor swimming pool.
• Rooms - The bedrooms are in excellent condition and worthy of a first class hotel, although the beds consist of one base and two seperate mattresses. The rooms are predominantly cream with black and all have a large, beautiful piece of art by the bed, hence the name of the hotel. All rooms have air-conditioning. The bathrooms are also in excellent condition and are black and white with silver sink areas and gold framed mirrors, making them a little different to your average hotel bathroom.
