- General - The Centrale is located in the centre of Cernobbio, enveloped by thick trees andbushes which gives it a very private feel. The building is a villa built in theearly years of this century for a local nobleman, and is a simple cream and brown structure which blends in well with its green surroundings. Inside, the hotel's design is predominantly modern, although in a very deliberate manner which ensures that there is no clash of styles. Dark wood is prominant in the lobby and through to the restaurant which spills out onto a shaded terrace. Bedrooms are very simple in their colour scheme, with light light blue and white bedclothes, carpets and curtains against the dark Polish ofthe attractive furnishings. This is a characteristic hotel, very well-maintained in a good location. 26jan96
