Exterior - As the name would suggest, the hotel was a school for many years. It was built as St. Stephen's school in 1861. The school closed in 1969 and the did not re-open again until 1998, when the hotel was launched.
General - An attractive and unusual hotel that offers something different to a standard hotel. (ML 08/01)
Lobby -
Location - Situated in Ballsbridge, a short walk from the centre of Georgian Dublin. The hotel is close to Lansdowne Road stadium and the RDS exhibition centre. The Grand Canal passes alongside and there is a DART station nearby.
Restaurant - Satchels restaurant provides high quality French and Irish cuisine in the fabulous environs of the old school hall. Housed in a former classroom, the Inkwell Bar serves less formal meals in a relaxed atmosphere.
Rooms - The rooms combine old world charm with modern luxury and each is individually named after famous Irish writers. All have satellite/cable TV, ISDN lines and data ports. Ice buckets, power showrs and king size beds in doubles are standard.
