- Exterior - The hotel has been constructed on the lines of a nalukettu - a traditional Kerala house which is built around open courtyards. Its sloping roof of terracotta tiles and large central pillars on 4 sides give the hotel an unusual appearance. 5 acres of greenery and palmgroves surround the hotel.
- General - The landing of Vasco da Gama near Kozhikode in 1498 heralded the period of Portuguese Colonisation in India. The region of Temples, Mosques & Churches illustrate its major belief systems. Calicut Beach is within walking distance.

- Location - This is a business hotel located in the historically significant spice trading town and sea port of the Malabar Coast. It is 23 kilometres from the airport and 2 kilometres from the railway station.
- Restaurant - There is a multi-cuisine restaurant adjoining the lobby which serves Indian, continental and Chinese specialties, especially the delectable Kerala fare. The lobby lounge serves tea/coffee, cocktails, burgers, sandwiches and ice-creams. A bar serves Indian and international liquor.
