- Exterior -
- General - (hotel not yet visited - report written from brochure) the sonne hotel is a very attractive traditionally styled building with a pinky orange facade and lovely shuttered windows in typical of the architecture of the region from its era. The rooms are more modern in decor than the exterior would suggest, and are clean and comfortable - some have large windows making them pleasantly light and airy. The restaurant is on the ground floor and is decorated in typical German rustic style with extensive wood panelling and simple but attractive wooden furniture. This is the ideal base from which to explore the local attractions such as the famous castles in neuschwanstein and hohenshcwangau, and a wealth of baroque churches and chapels and romantic fortresses and lakes.
