- Exterior - It is traditional. The hotel was built in 1864 and is a prime example of neo-gothic architecture.

- Lobby - The reception area is medium in size and is panelled in dark wood. There is a large sweeping staircase. The public areas are very grand.
- Location - The hotel is centrally located.
- Restaurant - The restaurant is sumptuously decorated. This offers seasonal specialities and a comprehensive wine list.
- Rooms - The rooms are situated at the front of the hotel and have good views of Oxford. The bedrooms are very elegant and furbished in rich fabrics with all facilities. They are of an excellent decor and standard and are of a medium size.
