- Exterior - It is an edwardian manor house
- General - 31st october 1994
- Lobby - The lobby and other public areas are very elegant.
- Location - The hotel is owned by Richard Branson and is situated one mile off the A19 to the south of Middlesbrough.
- Restaurant - The Leven restaurant uses the best of local produce in dishes based on traditional English cuisine with continental influences. The drawing room has a roaring log fire in the winter months and is very welcoming.
- Rooms - The bedrooms are all individually designed and have been named after local villages.
