- Exterior - The hotel has a lot of character and was originally a coaching inn. Some sections of the hotel can be traced back to the Georgian, tudor and elizabethan periods.
- General - General the hotel also has a garden with croquet lawn. Hotel not visited
- Lobby - The lobby area has an open fire from november to february.
- Location - This hotel overlooks Helmsley's market place.
- Restaurant - The restaurant of the hotel has a good reputation for excellent food
- Rooms - The rooms are all varying is shape and size and are very quaint.
