- Location - The Balmer Lawn hotel is situated in the heart of the new forest. New forest ponies can be viewed from the hotel grazing on the surrounding grasslands. It is close to many other places of interest such as the magnificent palace of Beaulieu, the national motor museum and the popular resort of Bournemouth.
- Restaurant - The hunting lodge restaurant offers a varied menu with a choice of both table d'hote and a la carte, often featuring local produce such as venison and trout. Malcolm lindop august 1998
- Rooms - The bedrooms all with private Bathroom appear to be of a medium size and in good condition. They reflect the style and decor of a more leisurely age.
