- Exterior - Originally a monastery founded in 1260, it was turned into a manor house during Elizabeth I. The grandfather of Sir Charles Darwin brought the priory and the whole family lived there for 60 years.
- General - The hotel has original features such as the Minstrels Gallery and the oak panelled library remain. (04/98)
- Lobby - The lobby is medium to large in size and is decorated with traditional style brick work.
- Location - The hotel is set in 400 acres of mainland parkland near Alton Towers.
- Restaurant - The restaurant is simple and elegant in decor.
- Rooms - The rooms are medium in size and are kept in good condition along with the bathrooms. Rooms have full facilities.
