- Exterior - A traditional victorian building.
- General - An excellent base to explore the lake district, just a short distance from Windermere town. Malcolm lindop october 1999
- Lobby - Small and functional.
- Location - The hotel is situated on the banks of Lake Windermere in Ambleside. Windermere town is a five minute drive away.
- Restaurant - The hotel has a fine dining restaurant overlooking lake Windermere. Alternatively there is a very popular mediterranean style cafe bar and bistro and also an Irish pub.
- Rooms - The rooms vary in size from small to medium. All are in good condition. The decor is traditional.
