- Exterior - The hotel is an historic inn dating back to 1503 and, although it has been modernised, it retains its 'olde-worlde' charm and individuality.
- General - The hotel is small and intimate and is decorated in a traditional style.
- Lobby - The public areas and lobby areas are inequate in size and reflect this style.
- Location - This hotel is situated in the centre of Kendal opposite the 'Woolmarket' market place. It is 1/2 mile from the station and 8 miles from Windermere.
- Restaurant - The restaurant serves a wide range of traditional dishes in a pleasant atmosphere.
- Rooms - All the rooms are fairly small, but clean and pleasantly decorated. Each room incorporates bath or shower, television, radio, telephone and tea/coffeemaking facilities.
