- Exterior - The hotel itself is modern in appearance.
- General - The hotel also has a leisure club including pool, sauna, jacuzzi, gym and beauty treatment. The hotel lounge also serves light meals and drinks. Malcolm lindop august 1998
- Lobby - The lobby is medium in size and is modern in decor. There is a seating area with sofas and armchairs.
- Location - This hotel is situated on gallows hill to teh south of Carlisle city centre.
- Restaurant - The hotel restaurant is called 'strings' and offers French and English cuisine. There are 2 bars, the piano bar and the Swallow leisure club
- Rooms - All rooms have Bath and shower with the type of facilities expected in a 4 star hotel. The rooms are of adequate size and are of very good standard having been renovated fairly recently.
