- Exterior - The medieval style mansion is grand in scale and inviting in appearance, making it one of the most distinctive hotels in the area.
- General - This is an excellent hotel which is rich with atmosphere and charm.23/05/02
- Lobby - The lobby is medium in size and decorated in a traditional style with an adjoining seating area with open fires.
- Location - The hotel is located in the Northumberland countryside, approximately 10 miles from the city of Durham.
- Restaurant - The restaurant offers excellent cuisine specialising in fish. There is a huge warming open hearth fire.
- Rooms - All the bedrooms are medium in size, on average, and all are in very good condtion. The majority boast timber-beamed ceilings and are decorated in a traditional style, some with four-poster beds. The bathrooms are medium in size and in very good condition.
