Hotel Reports
- Exterior - The hotel was originally opened in 1869 and is now a Grade 2 listed building of historic and architectural interest. It was totally refurbished working within the Victorian building. In addition, the interior has been restored to a very high standard.
- General - This is the most elegant and unique city centre hotel in Chester. As of 1st January 2002 all bedrooms will be non-smoking.(12/01 MJ)
- Lobby - The lobby is large and elegant with dark wooden panelling and rich fabrics.
- Location - The hotel is owned by the Duke and Duchess of Westminster. It is located within Chester's city wall and next to the ancient East Gate with its famous and distinctive clock tower. It is within 2 minutes' walk of the medieval galleried streets known as 'The Rows'.
- Restaurant - The restaurant is sumptuously decorated in marble and dark wood and provides an opulent and sophisticated surrounding in which to enjoy a varied a la carte menu. The restaurant is open all day for snacks and full meals. It features a polished wooden floor and leather furniture.
- Rooms - All are very luxurious and are individually designed and exclusively furnished. Many feature antique furniture. They are all large and are delightfully decorated.
