- Exterior - The hotel has an historic castle like appearance of white crenallated fortifications. The main buildings are attractively historic.

- Lobby - The medium sized lobby is very well lit. The small reception area is located just in front of the entrance door. The remainder of the area is well lit by daylight. The seating area is very pleasant.
- Location - The hotel is located up a steep hill overlooking a valley. It is within reasonable walking distance of the town's historic centre. It is set in rolling parkland.
- Restaurant - The restaurant is located on ground level to the right of the reception hall. It is a large, high ceilinged room with light paintwork and dark woodwork.
- Rooms - The luxuriously appointed rooms are all different in size and layout but have the same traditional style. The floors are of Polished wood with rugs, sumptuous beds and furniture adorn and some of the corner rooms are reminiscent of a fairy's castle. The bathrooms are modern, clean and very very well maintained.
