- General - Only a 5 minutes walk from the center of Gmunden, the Arcotel, though not benefiting from a lakeside position, does have some wonderful views over the beautiful lake traunsee situated as it is on a hill. A traditional , though not typical Austrian,building, painted a cheerful sunny yellow with large French windows opening onto the quiet street, this hotel looks like a large family house on approach. The medium-sized lobby has a welcoming open reception area and lounge and cosy bar. All public areas are decorated in the same dark wood panelling lending a richly warm feel to the hotel's interior. Rooms vary in sizea great deal (some 20 of them having 02 rooms).Most are from medium to large. They are comfortably furnished with good quality, though not particularly elegant, furniture. As mentioned earlier, some have truly spectacular views overthe lake and small town of Gmunden. Bathrooms are modern, well-equipped and fairly large. The restaurant
