- Exterior - A modern tower on a street corner.
- General - The hotel has been extensively renovated and refurbished in recent years. The lobby & coffee shop areas have been upgraded and this has enhanced the property considerably. A hotel that provides good 3 star quality in a convenient location. December, 1999
- Lobby - The lobby is small & simple and has been recently upgraded.
- Location - The Vista hotel is located at the top of york st, a minutes walk to wynyard station and very close to the Central business district, rocks and harbour bridge.
- Restaurant - Coffee shop/restaurant off the lobby.
- Rooms - The rooms are medium in size & kept in good condition along with the bathrooms. Rooms are 3 star quality with bright colours.
