Surrounding Area

Located within the East Coast of Singapore, the area is known for the residential districts of Katong and Joo Chiat. These are historical areas, circa 1930's on, famous for its Peranakan culture (Straits born racial mix of Chinese and Malay) and the infamous Peranakan cuisine. It is also close to the East Coast Park which is a coastal park for everthing from sailing to cycling.

Property Information

The hotel was once a landmark in the Katong area but has since been shrouded by newer and taller building. Still the distinctive white hotel is recognisable by the balconies that hang from every room.

Dining Facilities

Their all purpose restaurant the Cafe Vanda, is a popular stop even for the locals. Although they serve an international menu, they are most known for the Pernakan cuisine. It is basically a mix of Chinese and Malay cuisine and can be spicy. This can only be found in Singapore and some parts of Malaysia.
