General Description

Truly a gem of a hotel if one like the staying in a piece of preserved history. Second only to the Raffles Hotel in stature of the building. There are many corners to explore on its sprawling grounds but a well kept secret is to find the Mayfair Pool - an oasis within an oasis. 07/04

Located at the end of the shopping district in Stevens Road. This historical hotel sits on a large piece of land (for city standards). It is near the Duty Free Shop. It shares its land with the Parkland Service Apartments and the York Hotel (same owners).

Property Information

The exterior of the hotel is Tudor which is highly unusual in Singapore. The hotel started off as the Teutonia Club in 1900 and became the Goodwood Park Hotel in 1929. The facade is still characterised by a distinctive tower. The white building is flanked by Traveller Palm trees. Very historical in character.

Dining Facilities

There is a very traditional British style restaurant and a highly acclaimed Chinese restaurant. The coffee house serves high tea in the old tradition with black and white tiles, wicker furniture and ceiling fans. All the dining outlet are elegantly styled.

Further Info

The lobby is reminiscent of the days of old with many preserved touches of the colonial past. Medium in size, there are ample seats available. Daily polished brass emblems and stair rails stil adorn the common areas.
