The hotel is centrally situated in the heart of the ancient city, in the 'Courtyard Preservation Area' inside an old styled Hutong which means alley in the eastern part of Beijing. It is surrounded by historical buildings built in the Yuan Dynasty, where much of the buildings built duirng the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties are still preserved. It takes only a few minutes walk to the Old bell tower and Drum Tower and Shichahai lake.

It is built in a typical old Beijing architectural style with compound of quadrangle composing five courtyards. There are two stone lions sitting in front of the red door entrance, welcoming guests from all over the world.
